makes me nervous more than anything else...

people underestimate how important consistency is. you have inconsistency in lineups and minutes, and you have inconsistent players and that effects the chemistry on the court.

I think both Beverley and Lin care, but they care about minutes more than about starting.

This is true. I'm wondering exactly how many experiments you could possibly have up your sleeve to still be playing around with lineups by December.

I like having starter level depth on the roster in multiple positions. That is a great problem to have. When other teams have to go to their benches, we should have an advantage and pull away in games. Im looking forward to season.

The biggest news here is McHale will experiment with different lineups (starting and likely who closes) through Dec. (So be prepared to see who stay and who get traded )

"In all honesty, we will be trying different lineups in November and December," McHale said. "We have so many movable parts on this team, and we still have a lot of decisions to make."

Good to see Beverley will start during the season as it should be. Better to ease Lin onto the bench rather than cold turkey.

Only downside is the impending meltdown on the GARM by his fans.

Morey and McHale just building up trade stock for both of these guys. One of em will be included for another major trade.

So, I wonder if Kevin McHale mean this statement literally-- as in he will actually start both Lin and Beverley.

Morey already said on the radio that these two may very well finish games together with Harden, Howard and whoever, maybe Parsons, at PF, so why not start both together, too? I am totally looking forward to the 1-1-2-5-5 lineup of Lin, Beverley, Harden, Howard and Asik.

Joking aside, this is probably what he meant and what Morey told him to do.

Let's see if Lin can improve his D to elite level. His three point shooting seems pretty good now.

I don't like coach experimenting with starting line up in the regular season. We need consistency instead of risking a big hole early in the season.

I don't think it will be a meltdown. The longer the alternating starts continue, the easier the transition will be. By the end of the season, they will be full fledged Rockets fans.;)

    Morey truly is a genius.

1st half of the season to experiment. 2nd half to make the final push for playoff. Major bonus is to see what they can do with Asik (TT, backup C or a trade) and other pieces. Both PGs are probably not going anywhere unless they are involved as part of a big time trade.

Getting Lin and Beverley a lot of minutes is going to be about as important as getting Asik minutes. If Lin, Beverley, Harden, Parsons, Howard, and Asik all get 30 mpg, there will only be 60 mpg divided among 3-4 players. Asik may get less than 30 mpg, but expect Howard, Harden and Parsons may be in the 32-34 range.

Getting consistency out of that last 60 mpg is going to be the key.
