Bird did not always have a stacked team. Before he got there the celtics they had a 29–53 record he changed that to 61–21 season in his rookie year. The more you know...

Tmac was good, not his fault that Yao was owned by Carlos Boozer.

It was also hard for lebron to not laugh at Tracy failing to lead a team to the playoffs in china!

TMac was a baller, is is that really hard to believe? I think he was a better passer than Lebron. Pairing him with Yao was a great experiment, but I think Yao actually held Tmac back to at least some extent and vice versa.

Did we ever figure out if his body gave out, or just lost passion for the game, had some kind of mental condition, or a combination?

Hard to guard someone when they're in a suit on the bench.

Being mentioned as a tough cover by the greatest player in the NBA currently is hardly an after-thought.

Statements like this give them relevance.

If you want it to stop, don't feed into it........but deep down I don't think you really want it to stop.

I'd say it's the work ethics that made the difference.

This is far from the truth. He said it's on me around the time of defeat against the Jazz. He cried in front of the camera. You are being ignorant

He shouldn't have talked about playing with Duncan though but that has nothing to do with that.

Delusional Rocket fans are the only people who claim that T-Mac was mediocre. T-Mac is always on player's list of hardest people they had to guard.

It's more like a knock out. And the /thread should have been the first reply.

What is the point in debating about how great McGrady could have been, especially when you have the opportunity to watch how supreme physical gifts should be played out in LeBron and KD?

Tmac is a great person, no doubt. But I never saw "heart" like I did in Yao, or even Carl Landry. He's retired happily and doing his own thing, and objectively speaking should never sniff the top 25 all time. Last time I checked this was a forum for relevant discussion, not some sleazy sports bar full of man-boys whining about could-haves or what ifs.

    Tinman, I salute you daily.

A prime T-Mac was really a handful for anyone in the league. It's nice that King James recognized one of my favorite players. It's also important to note that he recognizes His Airness as the GOAT because he really is. There's no need to defend or to debate on how great Michael Jordan is.
