I don't watch a lot of the Texans but there was some pretty bad play calling in the 4th. When they are blizting predictably why is there no back to help block? What is with the unimaginative play calling in the red zone? Where are the quick hitting passes to avoid the blitz?
Yep, cause one has been in the league 10 yrs or so with many starts, while the other hasn't even suited up for a regular season game until today.
I don't think it makes a difference. Any QB is in a bad position at that point and I wouldn't blame anyone for not getting it done in that situation. You heard the announcers say it themselves, Case had no chance to do anything on most of those sacks and no other QB would either. My point is, it was a bad situation. Not doing well in the 2nd half when you have no RB's, you're OLine is a leaky dam, and one of the best defenses in the league knows exactly what you're going to do is an extremely valid excuse for not putting up many points in the 2nd half. And it's a valid excuse for anybody. But some people hate Schaub so much that they wouldn't give him the same benefit that they'd give to pretty much any other QB in the league.
I disagree. It was Case's first NFL regular season game and first ever start. Give him a break. He did much better today than Schaub has done in the past 4 weeks. I blame the 0-Line playing crappy and the defense sleeping in the first half. I mostly blame Kubiak. But what the hell... I'm happy and I ain't even mad because Case has so much potential. It's finally noticed. And people can shut up now!
Maybe... But Schaub was doing that with a full roster AND the defense played well. I think our record would be much better with Case. We win the Seattle game at least... This was just some horrible luck for Case with Foster going out, Foster is at least good for 7 points if not more. KC has a bad run defense and we never got a chance to even test it out.
You obviously didn't understand my post. I didn't say anything bad about Keenum. In fact, I said that I thought he played well. And I agree, he played better than Schaub has this season, especially in the first half.
Houston is Clutch city with two NBA Championships, Texans are unfortunately Kubiak's mess. Texas might be a football state, but H-Town is a basketball city.
No, it really isn't. All you have to do is look at all the empty seats in the Toyota Center at the start of games.
The O-Line can't really do anything either on those overloads, 5 can't block 6 if the defense executes, and we had had no running threat so they could sell out on the pass rush. This is on Kubiak for a bunch of reasons.
No no, I wasn't trying to argue or say anything negative about your post. But I will admit I read it slightly skewed. My mistake, but you get my point tho.
If none of our WRs can beat single coverage then it's a losing battle. Case did well under pressure. Hoping Posey starts showing some consistency to compliment Hopkins.
Keenum really impressed KC fans. Their comments can be read on the Yahoo sports game summary or on their fan boards.
The long and the short: Case gets a 110 QB rating against that defense in that zoo, with zero running game after your idiot coach leaves only two active RB's and your stud is in civvies before halftime. Schaub started the season with a full magazine and shot holes in both feet for six games. I say the Cougar deserves another start or two.
IMO, I think Keenum played great. His O line was terrible. He made great plays and did not play scared like Schaub. And is it me, or did we actually run some new formations? We actually looked like a real NFL offense. The only reason we were even close was because of Keenum. You guys would be singing a different tune had Hopkins grabbed that second TD.
No it's not. It's not even remotely close. The majority of people in this city don't care about the Rockets unless the team is winning. The Texans and football in general are far more popular here, by a mile.
