Good to hear you got coverage... bet that is a sigh of relief.

Why in the hell did they OUTSOURCE this job?.... and to a shoddy outfit to boot.... with unemployment numbers being what they are. That is a trailing PR nightmare.

No, it just adds more stupid to an already existing stupid pile.

And Rockets2K, your comment confirms what I've thought for 40 years of witness to the liberal left. The first 20 years I embraced the "all about me" idea. The last 20 I learned to detest those sentiments.

OK, I tried the Minnesota site just for the hell of it and it's so ridiculously well designed. It took less than a minute to see all the plan options out there. No lag, no confusion, no having to set up an account (to be fair, this also means no seeing if you're eligible for a subsidy so I have no idea how well that part works).

The Feds really should just talk to the one of the state sites and implement that.

I doubt that would work. The state sites are tailored specifically for them so trying to apply Minnsure to the rest of the US probably won't work. This was part of the reason though why the ACA was set up to allow states to create their own exchanges. While it is a failure on the part of the Fed to properly implement this it was also very shortsighted on the part of states that didn't implement to take the opportunity to provide a service that would better serve their own citizens.

There's nothing specific to the Minnesota site that shouldn't work for Texas or any other state. You input your zipcode, your requirements, and it gives you a list of options - that's the part that's not working or horrible slow on the federal site. The state site, I assume, already connects effectively to the federal database for subsidy information and all that. The application and approval process might be different, but you can make adjustments as necessary - the core infrastructure should work from state to state. You just need to change out the plans available and their locations and then make what should be fairly minor tweaks to the backend for the more generic application process that I assume is used at the federal level. It's a project that should theoretically take much less time than possibly rebuilding the federal site's infrastructure from the ground up.

It's not shortsighted in the sense that some of these states are doing everything possible to make it a failure. Like certain posters here, they're quite happy that it's not working properly.

You know what your problem is?

You ASSUME that anyone that doesnt follow what you say is on the "other" side.

    YOU ARE WRONG

I am NOT a conservative, nor am I a liberal....if you dont believe that I dont give a ****, but until you learn that not everyone fits these neat little catagories you will forever not understand your fellow man.

Get out of your box..and dont you dare put me in one....that offends me more than anything.

You couldn't afford insurance when you were younger, but now that you are older...

You voted for the younger to pay more for their health insurance so that you can pay a lower rate.

and you voted to deny people health insurance, while at the same time voting for younger people to pay more for their insurance than they will use while older people still pay more for the insurance.

Man, your vote sucks waaaaayyyyy more than what you claim R2K voted for.

Ummmm .... how much over budget is the Canadian computer company? And why exactly didn't Obama choose an American company?

Obama didn't choose the company. Why do choose to put out this kind of wrong information?

why is Obama ashamed to admit how many people have signed up for Obamacare? Estimates range between 5,000 and 50,000. Big success!!

Where in the world do you get that from what Rockets2K posted??? He said he couldn't afford insurance as a 1099. I contracted for 3 years (it took me that long to find a permanent job in my field here in the Houston area) and while I did buy insurance for my family I paid over $2k a month ($500 a month for high risk pool for my daughter alone). It is easy to see how people couldn't afford insurance.

Your attempt to score some misdirected political point sure makes you seem like a bit of an a$$ IMO...

One might think if they were President they'd have some sign-off or buy-in on just who designs and implements their hallmark achievement. And certainly, you can't harp on outsourcing of American jobs only to have the building of your hallmark achievement as President be outsourced.

So... a younger worker has to pay more as a 1099 now. What's your point?
