I want Texans players to put on an Oilers Jerseys ON GAMEDAY. Let's honor Bum Phillips.

I don't think the Texans can but maybe the Tennessee Titans will.

 

We don't own The Oilers name...Tennessee does

 

The best thing to do would be for the Texans to give out luv ya blue pompoms during the game to all the fans. Definite Oiler icon, without encroaching on ownership issues.

Also if the Titans do something and the Texans don't, I will eat my laptop

 

Actually, the NFL owns the Oilers name and colors and permits the titans to use them when appropriate due to its ownership of the team's history and records.

 

Titans own the rights to all "Luv ya blue" items.

The only hope Oilers fans have is when Bud Adams dies, and his dis-interested heirs end up selling the team... and the new owner gives the history back to Houston.

Its a long-shot, but there's no chance its going to happen as long as Bud's around. It was HIS team... HIS nickname... and he moved the team and took it with him.

Maybe a Houston contingent could put together an offer for the sole purpose of the nickname.

 

It is a shame that the Texans' hands are tied as far as honoring Oilers history.

 

More reason to hate Bud Adams.

 

They can still honor the man, and most likely will. I remember them introducing Bum coming out for our first playoff game.

 

I'd love to see a Columbia Blue Bum patch on the Texans jerseys or sticker on their helmets.

 

How about his iconic cowboy hat at the game unless the dallas cowboys own the rights?

 

Why would the Cowboys own the right to a hat? If any type of hat the Cowboys own, it would be a fedora hat.

 

It would SO EPIC if Wade wore a cowboy hat on the sidelines

 

You want them to come up with all those jerseys in one day?

This would be cool, along with the sticker-on-helmet idea. That would be a quick way to honor him tomorrow.

I also find it completely unfair that Bum had to go first and Bud Adams gets to live on. The only thing I can figure is that he either sold his soul to the devil...or he is the devil.

 

There's a better chance The Titans do that on Sunday. Watch it happen
