I love Keenum but I'm trying to not get my hopes up. I want to enjoy this because once Schaub is healthy, I feel Kubes is going back with Schaub regardless of what happens on Sunday.

This may finally answer the "is it Kubiak's or Schaub's fault" question about the stalled offense.

To hear some people, Kubaik is holding Schaub back because of his conservative playcalling. To hear other people, Schaub is checking down on his own way too early and often.

    This isn't true.

Win or lose, if Case plays well, he will remain the starter.

I stopped reading the article once it started talking about his arm strength. That myth will be broken Sunday.

Arm strength is a joke of a talking point for NFL QBs. The key is to get the ball out quickly and accurately. It's not like Brady and Peyton have cannons for arms. I'm almost sure that Case Keenum can throw at the same velocity and nearly the same distance as them.

Schaub's slow footwork and slow release are a big part of what keeps him from being great. Case has a much quicker release and clearly better footwork, so the key to his success will be in decision making. I think he can throw the deep ball better than Schaub and he gets it out quicker.

Too much is made of these scouting reports. Aaron Rodgers had the "system QB" tag, too. Brees doesn't have the prototypical QB size. And it's not as if Keenum can't improve his arm strength as he's just starting his pro career.

All of these scouting reports and analysis folks have never seen a player improve after college. Case didn't improve at all during his rookie year on the practice squad, he hit his ceiling his last year at UH.

Taking Kubiak's history into account, what makes you so sure?

I would not be surprised in the least bit if Schaub is the starter coming out of the bye, assuming he's 100% healthy, regardless of what happens this Sunday.

I'd argue it's both. Kubiak for not opening up the playbook and allowing Schaub to audible. Schaub for turning into a giant pink taco when there's even a threat of a pass rush.

I think the way the team feels about this has not been brought up enough. Clearly, they see something special in him that they don't see in Yates and I would go as far as including Schaub too...he really is going out there with a team, not on his own, as Kubiak said. I think the offense will really step up to try and not only protect him, but help him get the most out of the plays called.

If Case McCoy can beat OU, I guess anything is possible...

So we should do what, play Yates because its too hard to win in KC?? No one knows what Case will do but thats why they play the games...geesh. Comments like this show me you must not have watch the Texans play awful their first 6 games. Hell Case cant really be worse, and if he is so what...he's a rookie, Matt Schaub is 59 years old he has no excuse he's just average. Texans shouldve gone after Manning instead of trying to play it safe. They're not trying to really win, just keep the stands full.

Kubiak went with Keenum over Yates...that is a huge step. If Keenum plays well, no way Kubiak goes back to Schaub...his job is on the line with every game now and you dont sit the hot hand to go back to someone who has been terrible, coming off an almost devastating injury.

I dont know about this, Im hoping he plays great, but one game (good or bad) isnt going to predict his future, remember TJ Yates, his first two games, were very good (vs Atlanta and vs Bengals, then Kubiak hold him to not throw a lot, and then had a nice game in the playoffs, but he sucked against Baltimore).

Yates looked like the QB of the future from the texans, with a great upside, but he is been a disapointment since then.

So lets see what happens with him.
