NBA 2K14 Thread

When they zoomed out on that nba live trailer, I couldn't help but laugh. Looks like ps2.

Yeah, we usually do them during the week as a lot of people have weekend plans. How about next Thursday at like 9:00 ct?

Me and my buddy used to play that game co-op for hours. Between that and NBA jam I think those were the most fun days of videogame basketball. Also tecmo nba basketball for NES.

Live 14 might actually be lucky if it's that good.

 

live looks like their last game with slightly better gfx.. these guys just dont get it. they need to fire that entire dept and start over.. they had like 4 years to prepare this, nash looked all jerky and robotic..

Actually, I'm not sure why you're laughing that looks pretty good. Interest in Live has gone back up. The ball physics look a lot better than 2K. It actually looks like a ball getting bounced. Some of the animations that weren't in slow motion looked a little fast, however.

 

Live 14 isn't even worth pirating. No sane pirate will touch dat shiz.

 

I'm always the rockets but does everyone else experience everyone online wanting to be the heat or okc, man i just wanna play someone else for once!

Live may not do as well this year, but I hope they'll be caught up in a few years to give 2K some competition again. 2k has been coasting since 2k9.

 

Live looked pretty bad to me. Not a lot of ball bouncing in the 2K reveals, but maybe it could have the edge there (didn't really like how it looks going through the net though). Everything else looks worse to me. Got floating jerseys in Live. Models looks off (too skinny/lanky to me...not even talking about accuracy of the faces or anything). Animations seem pretty horrible. Twitchy feet on defense. Weird transitions between animations (not very smooth). Blah.

 

I guess I missed a lot of stuff, I only gave it a quick once over. There's still something about the dribbling that looks better than 2K to me. *shrug*

 

I think I only saw one or two dribbles in the two next-gen 2K videos, unless I missed something. Might be better than the usual dribbling from 2K. I haven't played it in a while, and my memory is fuzzy.

I checked out a few GIFs that displayed those issues in Live, so I was cheating a bit. It looked off to me on first glance, and just a lot worse on closer inspection (almost the opposite of what 2K was like for me).

Admittedly, I'm usually pretty demanding with what I expect from these games. Even a few things bother me about 2K, although I'm waiting to see some more video before thinking about it too much.

 

Yeah you've probably played quite a bit more than I have. I'm still likely going to end up getting 2K, I just was hoping for some competition I guess.
