RAPM has Asik ranked around the 15-20 area. He is not a high minutes guy so his nominal impact on wins would be lower, I'd imagine in the 30-40 range. I'm wondering what else would you base your ranking on for a defensive player such as him. The vast majority of public stats have no clue how to value defense. RAPM comes the closest. No surprise that the top 50 is littered with defensive bigmen. If you ignore stats and rank these players base on opinion, how do you value something like defense, which encompasses a full 50% of the game?
This has probably already been mentioned, but I just noticed that Royce is ranked last and has a down arrow next to his name. Well played, ESPN. Well played.
? That arrow is based on his rank last year. Of course it's down. No one can be worse than 500. He was ranked 290 last year and went down to 500. Trust me, ESPN wouldn't do anything clever
LOL at a tweet concerning Monta Ellis (#84)

@ESPNNBA Monta have it all but 83 players have more #NBARank
— J. it's because the injury and he's going to miss time. I think the rankings are based on predicted seasonal value. makes sense since he will miss time.
One great playoff series against the undersized Heat and people are believing stupid things like this. Hibbert/the Pacers are the single most overrated team in the league. I expect them to finish ahead of New York in the regular season, but let's just say I wouldn't be surprised at all if they end up 5th.
On the nba espn front page they have traces of the players image. Can anyone guess who 19 is with the funny looking shot? 18 looks like wade and 16 looks like Duncan?
Close. It was Horford. So who's left. 11 to 15 will probably consist of Marc gasol, Blake griffin, Kyrie, Steph curry and love? Top 10 consists of lebron durant Westbrook Paul harden Howard George rose Parker and Carmelo Pretty sure that's the list, though melo or George might be switched with curry or love. Not sure if Kyrie has been listed already but I know wall was 21st so I doubt Kyrie came after that.
I'd swap Westbrook and Curry given Westbrook's issues (that being said, it depends when the vote was taken)
Based on the images, looks like tony Parker is 12th. I originally thought that was gasol at 11 but it looks like it could be griffin. No idea who 13 and 14 is. I'm thinking that's Kyrie at 14.
Melo is really ranked low. The 2 most overrated players in the league in Curry and George are ahead o him wow.
