ball pressure defense is his only bright spot. other parts of his game is solid at best. with that been said, Beverly should be considered as a backup or specialist on any team until he plays more games and more minutes.
I feel that bev. defense is overrated here. He knocks down open shots at a level (you can count on) when passing him the ball, rebounds great, hustles hard for loose balls and can be ball hawk that can get under the skin of a PG that doesn’t have good ball handling skills. Hes that player at the park you dont want to guard or play against because of the pesk he is You would rather him on your team. But understand vs the pelicans yes he had steals and shutdown hoilday but lin shut him down also (just without the steals). Hoilday just had a bad game in general. I watched the magic game again last night from my DVR and 12 of the magic’s first Q points were scored on bev. a elite Pg can blow by bev. because of how close he likes to play. A taller PG can easily shooter over him because of his height if they get one step on him. His p&R defense is shaky at times because even though he is TUFF its hard for him to fight around the screen because he loses balance easily.
Considering he is shooting almost 70% from the 3pt line and the field i guess his shooting is a bright spot to as his rebounding.
Beverly's defense is better than Lin's. Sorry that is not arguable, and that is the reason they are even considering starting him.
Not about whose defense is better, I used that example to let you know how its overrated. I could give you some more examples but I rather not.
You compared his defense with Lin's on Holiday so yes you are comparing them. An overrated Beverly defense is still better than Lin's defense. There is no reason for the coaching staff to start Beverly otherwise especially if offensively he is not as capable as Lin.
Come on now. When you think of Bev, dead-eye shooter does not come to mind. If he shoots 70 percent during the season, then he will be the MVP of the league and we can iso-Bev all day long.
Lol, Tyrone Lue a defensive stopper? I suppose it's possible that Beverley could regress to that level, but I doubt it.
Response Let me ask you: Do you hate Lin or LOFs? It's ok to hate both, but I find it hard to believe that you only hate LOFs from your responses.
I said Bev's defense is better than Lin's therefore I hate Lin right? Is that what it comes down to? No one hates Lin. People hate LOFs because they do stuff like crap on Beverly and call his defense "overrated" while pumping up Jeremy. And you know what really gets to LOFs? When you say anything critical about Jeremy. So what do you think is going to happen? Thats right, people will say critical things about Lin because they know it gets on LOFs nerves. It's called trolling LOFs not hating Jeremy. It happens all the time on the message board, get used to it. I happen to think that Lin has potential to be an all star on this team, would probably be an all star in a different situation, and is one of the best role models in the NBA. But LOFs need to be brought down to earth a bit. No one hates Lin and LOFs need to know they are part of the problem.
Neither Beverly or Lin will be with the Rockets in 2 years. They both will sign a big contract elsewhere.
Im not a lof I been a season ticket holder since the season before he came, if CP3 would have came this summer and they would have had to dump LINs contract I would have been hoping they would have found a team to dump his contract to. Its ok to assume but dont as if you know someone behind the keyboard
