Dmo did better offensively in the final quarter. Still looked lost except for scoring. Casspi just had his shots not falling at the beginning. He rebounded well and looked like an NBA established player the whole game IMHO.

I think the coaches will probably start the season with Casspi (who I think needs to be playing with Asik off the bench).

But I think Jones has the most upside in the starting group...we could be athletically overwhelming at both ends if Jones finds his groove with a Dwight-Parsons-Harden-Bev/Lin lineup.

If and when DH12 gets into foul trouble, then we could keep Asik in the game and either bring in Casspi, DMo or Jones. So that will not be a problem. You can also bring in one of those guys at the midway point in the 1st quarter and sit Asik and move Howard to Center. That way you wont burn a lot of minutes playing both Howard and Asik together. You do know that Coach said he will play Asik for 30 minutes a game, right.

I believe Asik will be starting at Center and Howard at Power Forward.

    Definition of TRR per hoopdata
    TRR: Total Rebound Rate: 100x(player Rebs*(Team/5))/(player Mins*(Team Rebs+Opp Rebs))
Percentage of total rebounds grabbed by a player during his time on the court.

Not to be confused with rebounds per 100 possessions.

BTW, the league average for all players is 9.8.

He pretty much just let D-Mo compete. Jones was in the D-league mostly and Robinson really didn't get any time. D-Mo should be starting case closed. The fact that he isn't says a lot.

Jones and DMo competed and lost early in the season. Jones did pass up DMo at end of last year. Right now, it looks like the Rockets have a good problem to have at PF. Right now, it looks like Jones and Dmo haven't separated themselves from each other.

Oh, I agree. I think most people here would agree. I wasn't trying to pump up Patrick when I made my comment.

It's really weird that we wound up with two really good centers, but are still floundering around trying to find our PF. That's not the way I would have expected it to go.

There is absolutely no way that a NBA team can be stacked at every position. The Rockets have four of the five positions well covered with backups. Count the blessings.

Jones is the one lost. He would be nice PF on this team if he would just accept his role as the 4th or 5th option when he plays with starters. He is a complete ball stopper.

He's a complete ball stopper because he can't shoot the 3.

Dmo will get the start because he has excellent range and will stretch the floor more.

I voted for DMo. Would have voted for TJ before the preseason.

This is what I posted in another thread:

TJ is just a step slow to everything, both offensively and defensively. Seems like he's the kind that heats up slowly. Having him off the bench now and I am sure he will improve during the season. He is a much better shot blocker than DMo and I think he pairs better defensively with Asik than Howard so we have a shot blocker at all times. If he can hit the three like he did last March in the D-league, he should be the one starting. He fits better offensively as he is the in the flow kind of guy (not yet) and DMo could be more of the scoring off the bench type.

Depending on whether the Twin Towers experiment works out, I think eventually TJ will start and DMo comes off the bench as a center.

Such a hard decision. But lets go with DMO since he's 7 ft tall.

I understand the allure of starting your five best players, but Omri has 6th man written all over him.

D-Mo still has a long way to go before he can handle the physicality of the game.
I just feel Asik should be our starting 4. He can be an Otis Thorpe type guy in the paint when needed, and he can step out and defend the perimeter 4's.
Casspi,TJ,D-Mo and Smith are all bench options.
