Not sure how I feel about him starting, but there's nothing else out there for the Texans at this point. Schaub and Yates are struggling, so what have you go to lose? I admit that I haven't watched a single cougar game in my life and have only seen Keenum play in pre-season last year and this year. It's definitely interesting given that he brings a new dimension to the team, and we do not know yet how he will perform since it's his FIRST NFL game ever...

As a Schaub supporter, this is interesting to say the least. I still think Schaub gives us the best chance to win and is our best QB, but I'm rooting for Case and really hope he plays well. This has gotta be a really tough situation for Matt though.

But please, if Case goes something like like 11-23 1 td and 1 pick and we win 10-7 don't automatically assume he's the savior.

I understand he wont be our savior. But he'd at least be giving us the WIN, right? Something we haven't been able to achieve in a very long time with Schaub.

Happy to see Keenum get his chance. It's against a pretty damn good D, but hell we've got nothing to lose except go to 2-5 w/ Schaub starting.

I don't think he's the savior until he possibly starts for the remainder of the year. Cautiously optimistic though.

Nick Wright needs to take his ass back to KC. That guy incites dumbass callers with his half assed takes.

Its unfair to constantly criticize Schaub for being a game-managing QB when our team goes 12-4 but when Keenum wins in extremely low scoring games to give him a bunch of praise.

I think Case is the better QB between him and Yates. However, this Chiefs defense is going to feast on him, as they have everyone else this season. Have to wonder if Kubiak planned on throwing a backup to the wolves, so Schaub can rest up & gain back a little support should Case be smothered.

I hope Keenum surprises me, and the Chiefs. If he performs well @KC, he has to remain the starter. Just wouldn't bet on it happening...

If people think that Sumlin is a smart coach...then his assessment of Case shouldnt surprise any of us...Case's play at UH was a huge reason why Sumlin even got an offer from A&M. Awesome to see the love Sumlin has for Case!

This is just silly. I'm quite sure Kubiak is going with the QB that he feels gives him the best chance to win. He's lost four in a row and the season is on the verge of being lost, and quite possibly his job too. This isn't a time to play games and coddle his QB by throwing a rookie to the wolves just to build up his starting QB.

Schaub makes a BIT more money and took two second round draft picks. If you can get the win with both in unspectacular fashion, one deserves praise and the other deserves scorn.

that said, Schaub's slow ass wouldn't have a chance in hell to win at KC.

It's not like he can do much worse, and we aren't expected to win anyway, so the Texans have nothing to lose by starting him. At the very least, we'll find out what Keenum has in him.

    This isn't checkers. It's chess.

Giving your starter a week off because he isn't close to 100% against on of the best 2 defenses in the league is hardly coddling. It's taking the opportunity to give him a week off, satiate the fanbase, and likely have a reason to put Schaub back in for week 9 after the first time starter gets overwhelmed.

I'm not trying to suggest that Kubiak wants Keenum to fail, but he's putting the kid into a starting role during the week he's least likely to succeed in it.

We are gonna run the ball so much next game. I hope we get a...dare I say it...deep throw for a gain?!?!? Wishing him the best, good or bad, I can't get mad.
