if we're going to go GARM mode on the final episode, i would say...
Not impressed. He killed meth damon and 5 trailer Natzi wannabees. Gus killed an entire cartel and lived!

He went in there to die man. He didn't intend on living. His sole purpose in that moment was to save Jessie's life. He anticipated the ricochet.

i guess it is mainly the fact the he accidentally killed himself that i have the problem with, also the ricochet that lead to a reversal in trajectory is partly disappointing

i don't see it that way. i think his priority was to kill the nazis. they stole his recipe, money and most importantly threatened his family. saving jessie was secondary.

It wasn't really accidental. He had a change of heart about Jesse. If he chooses to let Jesse die, Walt doesn't get hit

I feel like he would have chose to die by it if he wanted to kill Jesse too. He did have a change of heart and shielded Jesse's body with his own. He knew he was going to die when he went there. Better to go out that way than be caught and rot in prison until the cancer kills him.

Agreed. He wouldn't have hit the deck (and accepted his fate) if he didn't realize Jesse was being held captive and wanted to save him. After it's done he asks Jesse to kill him. He went there for revenge, but also to die. Saving Jesse was a last second decision.

I think he went there to kill Jesse as well... saving him was a last second decision.

No, but he knew that was a distinct possibility. He pretty much indicated as much to Skylar earlier. Those bullets were spraying everywhere.

I guess I agree. He did ultimately go there to die, he probably would've just taken the bullets with the rest of the nazis if Jesse wasn't there. It just wasn't an "accident" as the other poster indicated

Seeing Jessie as a prisoner is what lead Walt to save him according to the creators on Talking Bad.

He was going to die either way, the way everything went down was great. Went out on a good note or a good deed.
That was Walter at the end.

Then the question would be, how did he sneak into the school?

He had Saul deliver it to the boy. This wouldn’t have been too weird because earlier in Season 4 before Jesse and Andrea got back together. Saul used to deliver money from Jesse to Andrea and had seen and talked to Brock in the past. Make perfect sense when saul hand back the ricin to walter. He was not please when he found out it put brock in the hospital

I thought it's a hell of a half season. The ending couldn't be better! Just brilliant.

Just finished the final half season last weekend. Been watching the show live since Season 2, but took a while to catch up with this season...part of me liked knowing that I still had some Breaking Bad episodes left to watch.

I liked the ending. Yes, it was all a bit rushed (had to be) and yes, I was a tiny bit disappointed with how Walk took out the nazi's, especially considering the imaginative ways he took out other foes in prior seasons, but I liked the tidy ending.

Interested to hear how people who watched all of the seasons in a short amount of time felt the final season was. When you watch it live, it is a bit difficult to recall how it started as more of a black comedy and ended just "black"

Liked how Walt died, how the family got money after all, how Skyler won't be going to jail. Also like that Walt didn't end up killing Jesse, as both men (mostly Walt) have done horrible things to one another. I like how they acknowledged each other and didn't hug and make up.

Also loved the laser sights on his old business partners. Too good!

One of the best series that I have ever had the pleasure of watching and personally am thankful that they didn't go Soprano's on us at the end.
