I've been using it since the first preseason game, but I just picked up a Roku 3 today. The streaming quality using the Roku is out of this world. This is just too good to be true.
I'm so tempted to get a new Roku and sign up for this, but I'm optimistic that CSNH is about to go out of business and I'll get the Rockets on FSN.
is their any type of packages where i only have to pay for one team (rockets) for the year instead of the entire nba for $60 (or is it $80 now?)? I glanced at this thread before but havent done much research on it. i jus want to watch rockets at home on my xbox. is that possible? Is there a download? or is it a straight stream from a website? i tried glancing through the thread but it is pretty dang big. any input would be appreciated and repped accordingly. TIA. Ps: How is the quality? is it closer to live feed on TnT or closer to illegal streams from firstrow and vipbox i have been using last year?
http://www.amazon.com/Roku-3-Stream...ie=UTF8&qid=1381970001&sr=8-2&keywords=roku+3 Roku hooks up to your tv and internet and streams content such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.
Sorry man, no packages. But you did miss out on the $60 deal. It's $90 now, but I think it's worth it! Quality is unreal man, it's better than broadcast TV on the high quality setting if you have at least a 3.2 MBPS internet connection. It is NOTHING compared to firstrowsports. I would say about 200 times better than firstrowsports. Just think about a TV signal, but you're streaming it. It's amazing man. Too good to be true, to be honest. You can stream as many games at once as you want, and quality will be based on your internet speed! I have a 12 MBPS internet speed, and I've never had a single lag on the high quality setting. Yes, you can stream via xbox 360. Read this thread, you can use many devices! http://www.ballstreams.com/devices Ask me whatever else you need man. Hope this helps.
I think the best way to stream is from your laptop via HDMI cable to your hdtv, which is what I have been doing. Considering you have at least 4 MBPS internet speed.... it'll be crisp!
so does my xbox. does using a roku result in a higher quality than my xbox 360? or is it the same, just a device for streaming if you dont own a console? I see that now. But im currently wondering if i should wait until the beginning of the season to order this. My thinking is it would only cost me $55 for 6 months. since the regular season is only 6.5 months long i could than buy a 2 week package for and additional $12.50. This would end up costing me a total of $67.50(plus tax of course). This nets me a savings of $22.50 without being able to stream playoffs, Which all playoff games should be nationally covered anyways. Thoughts on that? that is good to hear. i pay for good internet speeds. i see that, but does it matter which device i use in order to recieve the best quality? Thanks for all the help you are being very helpful... i appreciate it...
Also one last question, if you are privvy to this knowledge. Hypothetically lets say i wanted to split the $90 with my brother. Would we be able to log on at 2 different locations at the same time? Is there any sharing? Also, I seen you said i could watch any amount of games i wanted at once. WHat if i wanted the rockets game on in 3 different rooms all at once? possible? Thanks again Mr.D
I think you should be able to buy the $60 for 6 months and that should cover the entire season (not 100% sure but that is what I read on here before). Also, you can watch it on multiple computer if they are all on the same network. But if you are trying to watch it on separate networks then it can be only 1 person at a time, you will get logged out if another person logs in.
I think Roku is the best option, compared to 360, if you want to use a device rather than laptop to tv. I think laptop via HDMI to your TV is the BEST option. I've streamed every rockets game like that and I've had no problems. Get a wireless mouse, and you can control everything from your couch! Yes, that is a good option. Buy the 6 month option. The last rockets reg season game is on April 16. Today is 16th October, so that's 6 months right? Buy the 6month package tomorrow and you'll be set! No need to buy the 2 week package! Any other questions brotha?
Awesome. I'm thinking about trying this so I don't have to connect my laptop all the time. No sharing, you can watch as many rockets game in your house in as many rooms, as long as it's on the same network connection. You can't watch games at your house and at your friends house at the SAME time.
awesome thanks for the 2 week tip about the rockets schedule. but i can log in at my brothers house or any friends house at any time correct? as long as only one network?
Yeah it showed up around 7:10. Also, fyi for all those using a Roku: if you see the picture quality become less than HD, go to the app's settings and change the adaptive bitrate to high. It's default setting for me was "low and high."
