Would you want Pau Gasol for Jeremy Lin?

    According to Sam Amico:

Put two and two together, wouldn't a swap of Pau and Jeremy be a perfect fit? Now, the Lakers probably hate the Rockets now for the whole Dwight drama, but Pau really fits problems the Rockets are facing: Lin/Beverly drama, need for stretch 4 (Pau's got a great midrange game) and championship experience.

Jeremy Lin will make the Lakers a lot better as well. He gets reunited with D'Antoni, he gets to learn from one of the greatest PnR PGs ever and there will be no controversy for him being the 6th man under a sure-fire hall of famer.

Is it just me, or does this just make sense?

Hell yea I'd do it. Pau Gasol may not be the star he once was but he'd turn us into legit title contenders this season. Try and move Asik for another role player and we'd be awesome

    In a heart beat.

    Expiring contract.

    Fills gap at PF.

We could trade Asik if need be.

It's just you. I give LOF's a hard time... but this would be a huge mistake. Pau and Dwight already showed that they can't click together.

A front line of Gasol, Howard, and Asik. Where do I sign up? Unfortunately we don't have the contracts to match without giving up Asik.

Probably need to be Asik+Lin for Gasol. Our bench would suck **** and our starters would need to play a ton in the regular season, but if it means getting rid of LOFs and getting a solid PF then i'm all for it.

Third team trade with Asik for picks.

It even free up money for Parsons.

It will have to be Lin + Asik or some combination of the 342 PFs the Rockets have.

You are mortgaging the future for the present, which may make sense given the West is wide open this year.

They actually did ok. They could not click together when one Kobe Bryant was also on the floor. They did fine when Kobe wasn't there

Pau could play back up Center and spot PF minutes. Dwight said he like playing with Pau.

So wait a second. You want to trade Lin and potentially also Asik for Pau Gasol? To play in the front court with Dwight Howard? In 2013?

Dwight and Pau actually played well together when Kobe was out and D'Antoni didn't force Pau to the 3 point line. Pau has range up to the elbow and his passing is very underrated. Those Pau to Dwight alleyoops are undefendable.

If we can get assets for Asik like a lotto pick I'd love to do that. Asik and Lin won't resign here after next season anyway and Gasol is a great player.

this is what the LOFs here been crying for

that JLin plays with an unselfish, non-ISO, and elite defender at SG
    , an C with a polished offensive game, and coach with X & O's

plus I bet Laker fans will welcome them with open arms

Wouldn't you guys rather sign the dude outright? Depending on what his priorities and performance are, he could be down for an MLE deal next year. I don't like the idea of trading rotation players for him.

No. No no no. I could take shipping a piece or two off for Ilyasova in a 3-way trade. But I think you have to first see what you have with the current line up.
