Where was the outrage last season with the lack of starts from Delfino at PF?

And Meh still hasn't answered. Why not put this in the Lin thread? Why start a new thread on Lin? You're not a 2012/13er. You know the forum etiquette. In fact, you just wrote about it in the Cassipi thread.

Why make this Scola vs Gasol?

And when he did play in unfavorable matchups ... like against Gasol ... yes he was abused.

Here's the box score of the HOU-LAL game.

    http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?id=400278948

    Delfino 0-4 in 15min and 3 fouls, Greg Smith 4-6 and 10 reb and 4 blk + 5 pf in 42 min and 7-17 and 3-4 FTs + 20 reb, 11 assists 2 blks in 44 min.

Suffice to say Greg Smith did a lot better than Delfino, and neither could stop Gasol.

But put Gasol in that starting PF spot all season long? And it'll be worse than 'meh' ...

And part of the reasons for Gasol's assists? Not only is he a great passer, he can see over the top of Delfino's head like Delfino could see over the top of mine (roughly).

I don't think this is a good example to make your point. Your first sentence (a better fit) was either intended as a clue, or poorly phrased.

Loved Delfino. Sorry he's gone. But he is a SF. Can't put a square peg in a round hole.

I don't see it as embarrassing. The crazy LOFs are a small (and vocal) minority of Lin fans, fans who think everything illustrates bias or racism against Lin. They don't represent the majority of his fans, but when you have as many fans as Lin does, a small fraction can be a pretty damn big number.

There are plenty of examples like this. Can you imagine the comments we would get if we posted a video of a kid crossing over Jeremy Lin and scoring at a basketball camp, like we did Harden? Imagine if Lin and Beverley switched places... we'd be hearing questions like, "Why was Lin put back on the bench after playing so well as a starter in the playoffs?" or "Why is Beverley paid ten times more than Lin?" It's just silliness that we have to tolerate.

Sorry, but your post makes no sense to this thread. Meh is using a really bad comparison to try to get across his real message, which is the issue of Lin vs Bev. A few have pointed that out in this thread. Lin also gets some pretty negative comment made about him. Someone called him someone's b**** and name calling of Lin fans are way over the top.

But aren't these the questions we're having about Bev.? I guess that's ok, but questioning it about Lin is not for some reason.

What confuses me is how you guys want anyone but our actual PF's to play PF. Delfino was a SF who could play PF. It doesn't mean that he should play it all the time. McHale tried it out, it worked for a while, but really didn't get us anywhere. So that was the end of that.

The same fans(rookified) crying foul now are the ones too dumb to realize what the thread was about until the 3rd page.

This thread shouldn't be merged because it isn't about Lin vs. Beverley starting. It is about the LOF's inconsistent biases(oxymoron).

If it was CaLing Delfangdong coming off the bench last year and he was outperforming all the other PFs, you know full well that you would have been rioting for him to start.

Leave it to coachbadlee to still be utterly confused about what is going on.

Is this about Small ball or about something else ;)

IMO, it was great having a veteran player who could come in off the bench and you knew what you were getting from him night in and night out. He also was a bit of a gunslinger and a little trigger happy so he was very suited for a 6th man to spark the offense after it sputtered out late in the 1st quarter.

If its about fans embracing small ball I agree with you. Why are fans so concerned with height? I have no idea. Dwight has been the most physically dominant big in the league the past 5 years, but all anyone can talk about is how he's only 6'9"... who gives a .....

Its not about how tall you are, its what you can do with your size that matters. Delfino did alot with the size that he had, and in the playoffs and late in the regular season, he really shocked me with how well he defended when it mattered, and how underrated he was as a rebounder for his size.

-Also, worthy noting that Casspi has looked pretty solid at rebounding, and looks to be giving alot of effort on the defensive end even though you do see how he might struggle a little bit at first learning the schemes and getting bullied a bit in the post. He might very well be able to not just do what Delfino did for the Rockets last year late in the season, but do it, and have the fans feel less self conscious about his size.

As for the whole Lin thing.... I think there is merit to the notion that he might actually be more affective coming off the bench in a gunslinger role, but instead of a shooter, he's able to play to his strengths as an attacking guard. Delfino's offensive production was almost certainly higher being the #1 option off the bench instead of playing 4th wheel in the starting lineup so why wouldn't a Lin fan NOT want to see Lin actually do what Lin does best... which is attack and NOT play the 4th or 5th wheel in the offense with the starters??... again.... its all about perception.

The same fans who are worried about the height of the starting power forward are probably the same fans who worry about what people think about a player coming off the bench instead of starting.

And some of those arguing for Bev to start aren't bias in some ways also? Have Bev out performed Lin to such an extent? I would hope all Rockets fans would be wanting that person you mentioned to start also if they were outperforming all other PFs.

I actually think his post in one of the best and shows how silly this thread is.
