Hmm, I loved season 5 . It had to end somehow and I was happy the way it did. Hey at least it didn't turn out be "Dexter" which was way past it's prime .
I know what you're saying. Season 4 is without a doubt the finest season of a television drama I've ever seen. It had nowhere to go but down from there. That being said, I didn't dislike Season 5 like you did but recognize the flaws. In my opinion, the flaws were trying to rush too much story into 16 episodes and having a predictable finale (very unlike most of Breaking Bad.) Doesn't detract from my enjoyment all that much though. I'm still gonna miss it.
The thing id had they chosen a different ending everything would of been way pit of wack. Walt lives - def no! Jessie does - people complain Hank kills walt - weak. What they did was safe but was the best way to wrap it. I honestly believe the ride sometimes is more enjoyable then the closure
Just finish up season 2. Man! Where was i back in 2008? How many episodes are there in season 5 because netflix has it already but only 8? EDIT: NVM! So they split season 5 into two parts. Good o' amc milking it
Amazon has season 1-3 for $9.99 each for those that might wanna hop on this. http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/103880/amazon---breaking-bad-complete-seasons-dvd-the-complete-first-season-second-season-or-third-season
So - first I watched all seasons within a span of like two weeks (and read the respective threads on here after finishing each season). I only started reading this one after I was done with the final season. Somehow, I had not listened to my friends telling me for years that I should watch this show (I guess I don't watch much TV, other than sports, in general). I found the show fascinating. It took me several episodes to start getting into it, but then I was hooked. It was darkly depressing, yet entertaining and fascinating at the same time. Great acting. Great writing. Really good character development. I did root for Jesse. He was the one who "broke good" over course of the series. Walt went the opposite direction. I HATE HATE HATE both Skyler and Marie. Both of them are incredibly annoying. Skyler even more than Marie, who was more or less useless in this series. Because of Anna Gunn's stupid op-ed, I suspect that I would dislike the horse-faced actress in real life, too. Call me a misogynist, or whatever. She is just the most annoying TV character I have ever seen. Found Hank annoying at first, but later, was cheering for him. He was a good guy with balls. Thought Jane was hot, as well as psycho Louboutin-wearing (know how I know you're gay, HP - I would never know any of those brands) Lydia. Loved Saul, Huell, Badger and Skinny Pete, for comedic relief, and as "good guys" (well, Saul not so much). Thought Mike was cool. Gus was a great bad guy, as was Tuco. Hector - ding ding ding! Great show. Glad I got around to watching it. P.S.: I hate Skyler White.
This is cool: it looks like Anthony Hopkins really, really liked Breaking Bad. Apparently he marathoned the entire season in two weeks, then wrote a fan letter to Bryan Cranston saying that his performance as Walter White was the best acting he had seen -- ever. http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/10...-anthony-hopkins-fan-letter-to-bryan-cranston Nifty stuff. Especially since Hopkins happens to be my favorite actor. I'm glad to know he has good taste.
Exactly. When the dude that created Hannibal Lecter says you put in the best acting job he's ever seen, that's about as high as the praise gets.
According to this : http://news.yahoo.com/anthony-hopkins-wrote-bryan-cranston-160400840.html , it has since been taken down from Steven Michael Quezada's facebook page. Why was it taken down? Was it because they discovered that the email was a hoax and it wasn't really sent by Hopkins? The reason I suspect it was a hoax is because in the letter. It gave thanks to too many actors, claiming that they all gave great performances. I hope I'm wrong here, because I loved BB; the email just sounded kind of funny.
No hoax. It was confirmed by Hopkin's publicist. http://thestir.cafemom.com/entertainment/162610/anthony_hopkins_writes_the_best
That is really cool. Imagine being called a great actor by Anthony Hopkins. Wow! I love how he binge-watched it like so many of us did and even downloaded from "Amazon" to get his fix. It truly was addicting and you could not stop watching. I remember back when I was caught up and missed some of the current season episodes that had already air-ed before I got into it. I was literally suffering from withdrawals because I could not access the episodes I hadn't seen as they weren't on Netflix yet or available anywhere. That was tough waiting to see those.
