San Diego is really controlling the ball, line of scrimmage, clock and of course the game with their run game. 4th quarter is pretty scary when it comes to Luck playing from behind. That man is absolutely clutch.
Colts sure do seem to get away with lots of holding... then again, some ref crews just don't call it. This crew is also allowing some contact on long pass plays... something I haven't seen in the majority of Texans games as they get a weekly skeptical pass interference call.
Wow... how are teams this inept at running out the clock. First the Saints yesterday, and now Matthews inexplicably running out of bounds. Will QB's start having to take knees just to run out clocks now?
Eh... a fumble is more likely in that scenario and would be far more dangerous than going for it on 4th down here.
Gruden loves getting to say "go for it" without actually being on the sidelines making the call himself. I don't know why any announcer would ever leave broadcasting to go back to NFL coaching. Only one I can think of was Jimmy Johnson, and he said it was a huge mistake after the fact.
Far more bad things could have happened on that kick than simply going for it on 4th an inches... but credit to the Chargers for nutting up and executing. Looks like SD wasn't such a push-over of a win for the Texans after-all... Mike McCoy has done a good job for them.
