Looks damn good. What a great low risk, high upside acquisition by Morey. Fills an important role for us as a stretch 4 who can actually rebound. Along with the maturation of Jones and DMo, I'm surprised that I'm liking how our 4 spot is shaping up.
Casspi has to be one of the happiest guys in the entire NBA right now. His career was in steady decline playing for terrible teams, and now he will probably be an important rotation player with a contending team. Good for him, I hope his good play continues.
The more I'm seeing the more I'm liking. I started to wonder what he'd look like when other teams' defenses started noticing how dangerous he was and he got played harder, then I realized that anyone who left someone else to man Casspi was probably leaving a Harden, Howard, Parsons, etc. That's a nice problem to have. I think he's going to be a great fit for us.
About as much as Parsons renegotiating extra year for pennies. But at least he's on a better career trajectory. Most people don't even get a chance to turn things around.
Don't know if this one got posted, highlights from Casspi's first game against the Pelicans: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9IWPKOxM38
I don't think he regrets that at all. He wanted a good home to get his game on track and he is there to prove himself, not to make a lot of money.
Casspi has good passing skills and court vision, I loved that turnaround dish to Parsons for the fast break slam dunk. He is what Morey wished Royce White could have been if he fulfilled his potential.
i think "sheaf of grain" has a lot of potential, but still wanna see how he can do better defensively though b4 throwing him into the starting 5
As much as I like Casspi, he cannot dribble the way White can. If Royce White could fulfill his potential, he would be LBJ light (or heavy?). There is no way Morey would have wasted a 1st round pick on White if that psycho's ceiling were Casspi.
If he had the potential be even LBJ light then he would be a Top 5 pick for sure and with his mental issues. It's the Boris Diaw/Anthony Mason at best situation that got him at 16.
