Whether you love the guy or hate the guy, whether you cheer him when he does well or when he's hurt, there's no ignoring the fact that Schaub is tough. His injury looked painful. Anyone got any updates? I wish him the speediest recovery. As an aside, and not to derail my own topic, but I wish the fans would come together for a fan rally to show their support for the team. I think the team needs it. I don't live in Houston, so I can't, or else I'd love to.
"Once the season is over" He shouldn't rush into these things.. I say sit for at least 1-2 months and rehab for another 3-4
The next 2 or 3 years are over as well, without Schaub. Oh, if you miss on a draft pick QB, expect another 4 or 5 years of futility.
I believe the twisted ankle is the same as the one with the Lisfranc (right foot). I'll keep reading this for updates. It seems like it's only a twist, but let's hope for his own sake there's nothing broken, fractured, pulled, etc. That's F#($*&^ed up to say, whether you're a fan or not, for any other human being. Heck, I don't even wish THAT on any Dallas Cowboys player.
This is pretty silly given the number of rookie QBs who've taken their teams to the playoffs in their first year - including some previously terrible teams. Flacco, Ryan, Dalton, Wilson, Luck, RG3, even Mark Sanchez. Kaepernick did it in his first year starting, etc. The idea that getting a new QB will start a long rebuilding process is nonsense, especially when you have talent all over the field as the Texans do.
You're assuming you are drafting a no risk stud. There is not a no risk stud in this years draft. Remember the 2002 draft. Holy jesus, if you miss that will definitely set your team back many years. Look at STL.
If he has a serious injury I will feel bad but, it was almost as if he faked it once he realized he had fumbled...
Naw. Matt just didn't throw for a touchdown AT ALL. That vaunted Rams D huh? He couldn't get it done in the redzone. He played to not throw a pick instead of scoring points.
I wonder if Schaub will be given another chance to guide this team to the Super Bowl next year if this season is lost to injury.
No I'm not. A few of the people I listed were 2nd round picks. One was Mark freaking Sanchez. Of course you have to evaluate talent properly and if you miss, it won't work - that's always the case in the draft. If the team sucks at drafting, they aren't going anywhere anywhere. Settling for guaranteed mediocrity because you're scared of failing is dumb. It's how franchises become permanently mediocre.
I'm hoping that we get to see Keenum on Sunday, even though I'm 99% sure that he's not our QB of the future. He is the one unknown right now. We know what Schaub and Yates are. Kinda sucks that our future QB is playing on Saturdays right now... I wish we could use these next 10 games to get him experience. Indy dumps one franchise QB only to pick up another one in Luck. We haven't had an elite QB since Moon. It's time!!!!!
