Fitting title for a couple of reasons. One it's true. Two, today was the first day I introduced and watched Star Wars episode IV with my 4 y/o son. Good times, good times.
Real sport meaning poor dribbling, zero post game, poor fundamentals overall and 95% of shots either a 3 or layup? Ok, gotcha.
So much hate for the NFL and the Texans here. Just like the Rockets, the Texans have passionate fans too that have been hoping for that championship trophy. No need to be so hateful. And whether you like it or not, Texas is a football state. The Rockets are 2nd to the Texans.
Disregard the validity of your statement as it pertains to the Rockets offense and Rockets players IQ for a bit... Are you saying that if the Texans had a top scoring offense by using a power running game(sure yardage like layups) mixed with super long bombs(3 pointers), that you wouldn't find that awesome?
I'm kinda there too. It's hard to believe that this same group (mostly) dominated last year. Is it the league caught up or we're just stale (same thing?), there needs to be some offensive innovation here. They're taking away our best threats . . .
This is so strange to me that there's this polarizing rivalry within a city amongst fans of the various teams representing the same city. I grew up rooting for the Oilers/Astros/Rockets all the time because they all represented my city. My kids are the same way now...albeit, it's Texans instead of Oilers now. I don't get hating on other teams that rep my city. Slap Houston on it, and I'll root for it to win.
My wife is beautiful, my daughter has a masters degree from UT, and I have multiple houses, one on a lake. The Texans are still screwed up. How is that possible?
Houston's never winning a Superbowl. No way God would allow a team with such a terrible team nickname to win anything. Idiot owners are reaping what they sowed; it's not about their terrible management, but that moment when they chose the absolute worst possible name when we got the expansion team. In other words, I'm no football fan and feel little pity for the pathetic Texans fans who are fleeing their wreck of the team at the first moment of hardship.
I grew up being a strictly Rockets and NBA fan. Started following football 4 years ago when I began playing Fantasy Football, then became a Texans fan. I don't think I'll stop being a Texan fan though because when they do eventuall become legit contenders it'll be that much sweeter watching them succeed. Much like hopefully the Rockets now!
Really doesn't make sense. I guess some of it stems from the lack of coverage the Rockets get during FOOTBALL season... but that would be true in any city with a football and basketball team. If the Rockets fans here would rather follow an NBA-only city, I hear Sacramento and Oklahoma City are swell towns. In the end, its the NFL... and then every other sport. And the NFL is slowly stretching its reach well into April. The only real time the NBA gets the stage to itself is deep in the playoffs.
