So as it turns out, had they NOT tried the pass on 3rd down there, Brady may not have had time for the last TD. Still the right decision to go for it on 3rd down, and should have been more aggressive on the first two downs.
And NE got yet another opportunity and won the game because of poor decisions by Sean Payton. When teams have a chance for a "kill shot" by getting a first down, they should go after it. I have no idea why NFL and college coaches continue to worry about forcing teams to use timeouts. In today's NFL and college football, things happen quickly.

This. Timeout's aren't points. And the entire prevent defensive philosophy turns a 70 yard field into a 30 yard field.
The first priority should have been getting 1st downs, not forcing the Pats to call timeouts and running clock. Five of the last six plays by NO were "safe" runs. The only pass was on 3rd down. That was poor coaching. Kim, well said. Prevent defenses prevent defenses from winning. Avoid the prevent defense by keeping the ball (or scoring a TD), especially when your offense is much better than the opposing defense.

Last year, they were the 4th highest scoring team in the NFL - behind only Brady, Manning, and Brees. And that was with a rookie QB and RB.
They had two timeouts left, had a big gain with 30 seconds left in the half and instead of taking an immediate timeout, they lost 15 seconds. That was probably 2 legit tries at the end zone blown right there. The value of timeouts is overrated.
the playcalling this year is terrible, why does he tell robert to constantly throw passes behind the line of scrimmage, RG3 is an accurate passer, let him push the ball down the field smh... and whats with not getting Alfred Morris involved god i hope this entire coaching staff is gone next year
