Watched the game and it was kinda unbelivable those shots went in.

Always fun watching young talent get in the groove. Perhaps even more impressive than his shooting touch was how light on his feet he is for a 6'8" 240lb guy. The highlights didn't show that right before that quick turn-around J, the excellent defensive positioning by Bennett on Andrew Nicholson in the post that resulted in an offensive foul (and tech on Bennett for slapping the ball after the call.) Dude has a great attitude and played hard throughout the game.

His weaknesses are evident. Dude needs to get in shape (totally winded after hitting that last trey). Absolutely must learn how to use his size as a defensive advantage without picking up fouls (3 fouls in 4th Q) and block out more effectively (only 4 boards.) Shooting is his obvious strength, but he definitely needs to learn how to perform WITHIN the team offense (only Kyrie gets to play hero-ball.)

Nevertheless, I am happy the kid is shining early.

    btw:

He's one of the guys I want at #1 pre draft. If you think that's just hot shooting, check his defense and rebounding in the game. More importantly, wait until he gets in shape so that you can see Zbo 2 with shooting AND handle AND vertical.

Agreed. He's a passive complementary player with some solid tools who had a nice scoring stretch in the playoffs on an uptempo club.

He will be a great piece for the Warriors, but he's not some franchise centerpiece like Drummond.

Waiters doesn't get enough credit either - that guy has some big-time potential, and he seems to have the fire/mentality/work ethic to get there.

Impressive shot-making, but I hope he's not relying on turn-around fadeaways as his main offensive weapon.

I watched the first 3 quarters then stopped lol. He pretty much stank it up until that outburst.

If Bennett does develop, and lives up to the #1 pick status, I wonder what they'd do with Tristan Thompson? Since both him and Bennett are pure 4's. I don't see either of them making the transition to the 3 or 5 spots.

My thoughts exactly. These weren't great post moves. It was making difficult shots.

We'll see when the real games start.

I still don't get the pick at that spot, or their picking the last few years, as someone else mentioned.

If Kyrie Irving pulls an "LBJ 2.0", he will be with the Cavs 5 more seasons.

That was a great shooting performance but I'm still not sold on Bennett. We'll see how he holds up over the long season.

Well Waiters isn't exactly setting the world on fire either lol, please remember the Warriors are competitive and he has to share time with Iggy.

Waiters is getting all the minutes he can handle and the Cavs didn't care if he slacked on D or shot terrible percentages. I think Barnes is better just on the basis that he's longer and more athletic than Waiters, Barnes can actually play SG and have an easier time being defended by 6'3s and 6'4 dudes and at SF with 6'7 and 6'8s whereas Waiters would get hammered at the SF spot.

Honestly all you have to do is check out their stats, even with having to share time and in a more competitive team Barnes posted 0.526 TS%, Waiters posted a very dismal 0.496 TS%.

That's true, but my point is Irving's getting to the point he's gonna be good enough to push the Cavs to the playoffs, they won't be able to get good talent who can grow with him very soon.

I don't think Bennett's better than that injured guy in Philly, but at least he's better than their past 2 picks lol.

I don't care much for Waiters either. All I'm saying is, Barnes isn't going to be an all-star at any point in the future. His upside is a past his prime Richard Jefferson.
