Also, the Thunder lost the trade not because of team success, because the assets they took back from the trade has not produced much. The team success is largely due to Durant, Westbrook, and Ibaka improving.

The only way the Thunder win this trade now is if Lamb or that Steven Adams guy turns out to provide what Harden once did for the Thunder.

I am a Rocket fan. But I am old enough to remember when we "won" the McGrady trade. We cannot accurately assess this trade until we see how adams and lamb develop. Im not going to sit here and pretend we didn't benefit from Westbrook being injured in that series. We most certainly did

 

8th seed. But still. We improved they didn't.

 

Pre-Harden---2011 record 43-39 (9th seed)
Post-Harden---2013 record 45-37 (8th seed)

We improved....a little. We need to get back to 90's level dominance before I can be satisfied. Maybe thats just me tho

 

Well by getting harden we added Howard... So so far the dominos are
Falling the right way.

While on the Thunder front I'd be surprised if the are able to keep both Durant and Westbrook of they don't win it all before their contracts are up.

 

Rockets still 'Won' the Mcgrady trade.

The players and assets the Magic got for McGrady turned out to be trash.

As of right now you are depending on Lamb and Steven Adams to save the trade. Hey, it can happen that either of these guys either together or just one hitting could make the deal worth it...but thus far the Rockets already WON their side of the deal...

Unless Lamb becomes BETTER than Harden, The Rockets have won the deal. Period.

The Thunder side is up for debate still, but the Rockets already won their side of the deal.

 

Maybe so...but KD and Russ are locked at least until 2016. That is OUR window!!

To make it clearer...it's possible that BOTH teams can win a deal.

What we do know is that the Rockets have heavily benefited from acquiring Harden. Irrelevant of the Thunder success last season.

The Thunder have not yet reaped benefits from the trade...period.

 

Whoa there!! Lamb will never be better than Harden. But they dont need him to be. Just like they didnt need Kmart to be. They just need him to stretch the floor when KD and Russ are doubled. The question is can he do it

 

Harden did a lot more than just 'stretch' the floor for OKC.

 

Of course he did. But statistically they were BETTER when they had 2 playmakers instead of 3.

 

I just think it's interesting that a Rockets fan posting on a Rockets board would come on and have his first post be, "HEY! I'M AN OKC FAN! ANY QUESTIONS FOR ME ABOUT THE STATUS OF WESTBROOK'S INJURY?"

I was obviously kidding. Im definitely a Rocket fan. But im definitely NOT a Rocket homer like most on this board. although I do like the moves Morey has made so far....I still think this Rockets team is flawed. The two best teams are: 1: Spurs 2. OKC

 

Perkins life/career went to hell as soon as he dropped the weight. Coincidence?

 

Minnesota won the trade, Kevin Martin now plays for them.
