Well if he only means the transition period between Yao-Tmac to Harden-Howard.

Because before that the team was looking for a ring, went out got Artest...just all the injuries, Tmac's decline and Yao's retirement...

Nothing really wrong with what he's saying though, I'm sure when he played with those young players he probably had a sense that they were playing more to prove themselves in the NBA than trying to win games.

I think he meant the Rockets were not in position to contend for a ring.

You think Lowry, Dragic and rookie Parsons with Scola is good enough to win a ring? They couldn't even make the playoffs, we ended up 9th place 3 times in a row.

No Scola means exactly why Adelman left.

It not about being in position to win, we went into rebuilding mode.

    That's all Scola meant.

Nothing false about that. The title hopes were pinned on Yao and McGrady. After they went down there were no more title hopes, except "I hope Yao comes back so we can start having title hopes again".

    Wishing Scola the best.

Played hard and gave it his all. Anybody who thinks otherwise clearly did not watch him play.

And no, I see nothing wrong with what he said.

Yeah, there is definitely nothing wrong with what he said. The Rockets were not that good of a team the last couple of years he was here, and they definitely weren't contenders. The Pacers are the best team he has been on since '08.

Adelman left because he wanted the key to the car and Morey said no. Look at Minny, its a who who of Adelman pets that won't contend for a ring.

He's right. I don't think he meant the teams didn't want to win a ring. He meant he didn't play for a team that had a chance to win a ring.

I was under the impression Adelman left because the management was going to make some personnel (coaching staff, not players) moves he didn't agree with.

Scola was probably referring to the management not having their eyes on the title during the last few years he was in Houston, which was absolutely true. Those guys played their hearts out, but Daryl was certainly trying to build the team to compete for a title down the road.

He was on the team that took the Championship Lakers to a game 7, without T-Mac or else would have never won the Portland series. Those were his first two seasons , I think he is talking about everything after that and he is right. He talks like he plays on the court and that is why I liked him. I'm glad he is on the Pacers, hope they lose in the finals to the Rockets.

Logically, no, not playing for a ring. But absolutely still playing to win.

The last year the Rockets were hoping to contend was 2008-09. Scola has played 4 seasons since then.

Past few years he was with the suns, and a rockets team that didn't even make the playoffs. What did he say wrong?

Exactly, and no one was playing harder than Luis in that attempt to win. He merely spoke the truth. I'm glad he's now on a contending team in the East and I dearly hope we manage to play against him in the playoffs. Why? It's obvious. The Rockets would be in the Finals. Win or lose that series, and despite Scola busting his arse if that series happened, it would be a series where I would like our chances, and like them a lot.

Viva Scola! Just be prepared to lose if the Rocks meet the Pacers in the Finals. I hope we both make it.
