Harden should be the 6th man.

    It's because of talent. When Team USA plays other countries like Uganda the guys simply turns going one on one against their overmatched opponents. Why bother getting fancy?

    ISO's are not necessarily a bad thing. Heck, if you have a mismatch--exploit it! Today...Harden and Parsons and Bev made some extraordinary one-on-one moves to the basket and the shots fell. Without Lin, Dwight was meanwhile relegated to post ups and shot 4 of 11. However maybe this is the way McHale wants to play...

    So you compare Harden to McGrady. OK. Rox to Team USA. Yeah Baby! Pacers to Uganda. . . .

    This thread is a train wreck, and yet almost no one seems to know it. It is amazing.

    Hey, if the Rox can average 110 point/game on an offense which is composed of 90% Harden ISO's...then I'm all for it. Might be a bit boring, but...at least they'll win. ISO's are not necessarily a bad thing if they work.

    Are you saying that Dwight shot 4-11 because Lin wasn't on the lineup?

    Has nothing to do with the fact that Dwight isn't going up against Stiemsma, but Roy Hibbert and one of the top defensive team last season?

    I think what OP is saying is that, if, whenever Harden is in the game the offense is a Harden ISO fest, then it would be advantageous to have Harden with the second unit (which doesn't have a go-to scorer and which could play off the Harden ISO) than the first unit which with the Howard/Lin PnR, and Parson, could do more than enough damage on the offensive end w/out Harden. OP's argument makes a TON of sense; and this is exactly in fact what happened last year...the other starters would get subbed out meanwhile Harden would still play with the second unit. Harden won't ever be the sixth man though.

    Agree completely. I must apologize as I think my writing didn't come off clear. I meant to say that people seem to allege that certain Asians don't understand sarcasm, as when I read some posts attacking Lin fans about this, the comments sometimes seem directed at Asians (although this has died down recently, perhaps due to better moderation).

    Iku, you are the mvp of this thread.

    Side note, Yao and TMac were the best two players on the team. Would you call Lin top two on this roster?

    Harden = All star
    Lin = scrub... why they allow Lin off the bench still makes me shake my head...

    Hey guys, let's put our superstar and best player on the bench. Gee that sounds like a good idea. Not.
