any old fool can dream up where they want to lay tracks and run rail. The tough part is where to find the money for it. What do you cut? What taxes do you raise?

as I've always said, with unlimited pots of gold, we'd have rail everywhere, subways, maglevs, and magic carpet rides for any uncovered parts of the area.

Buses aren't the answer. Do you even ride the bus?

Congestion isn't as much of an issue going from Kingwood to Woodlands as it is on major freeways coming into and around downtown every morning and evening. Have you ever looked at a traffic map?

HOV lanes have slowdowns all the time now. They were originally built with a promise of rail later. Well, it's been 30 years, and...

and yet those people make it to work everyday, and others continue to move to the burbs.

I guess it's not exactly the gridlock you claim

Look at a houston traffic map every morning and evening. Congestion is bad, and it's going to get worse the more people that move into town. I'm sure you also didn't want to desegregate or free slaves in previous eras too.

No need for the wild accusations. Doesn't further the debate.

More and more people want to live in the loop instead of the burbs. Unfortunatly due to limited space its cost prohibative for many people.

People that are against progress are against it in any era.

but people dont exist across multiple eras.

    your argument kinda fails here.

Here is an idea. How about everyone live closer to work instead of commuting from the burbs.
