What's insulting about saying Lin is level-headed and stays positive? Should be more of that maturity in the NBA. And I agree that, like all NBA players, he's a world class athlete. And last year he proved he could be a starter.

But this year he has already proven his starter position is tentative at best. I still think he'll do a fine job off the bench - the team needs role players to fill in while the stars rest - but he's getting farther from the "star" you seem to think he is.

I know what he was trying to say, but the way he put it was very disrespectful. Another issue is whether you want your $8 Mill per year player to come off the bench. Depending on how Lin plays, he might take a lower amount and stay with Rockets but I see a greater likelihood that Lin will get traded to another team, so even if Lin comes off the bench (to which I do not have that much objection), I see this arrangement not last too long.

Ugh. You're just as bad as the annoying LOFs... and this is coming from a Beverley stan. The purposeful antagonizing is transparent and so tired.

Shouldn't have said he would be happy to carry towels. No NBA player would be happy doing that. Do you think Parsons would be happy carrying towels? No way, Jose.

Global games is all about marketing NBA. Dissing Lin (which, to judge from posts here is what x% of fans believe happened) when he was, according to reports, the most popular player there seems to run counter to what the NBA would want to have happen.

On the other hand, the Rockets have their own agenda which involves figuring out how to win games, and you would think people on a Rockets board would be more understanding of that.

They did not bother to show up when they learned Lin is not starting  (just kidding)

Hopefully a game indicator. Were good to play until May or June.

I'm just happy that we have two such good players at point guard, and don't really care who starts as long as both get enough minutes I think to contribute and be able to improve as players.

I'd be devastated if we lost either player.

Agree. Just let go of your hate. No self-respecting NBA player would be happy to carry towels, even if the player was paid $8 Mill per year.

I never implied nor stated that EVERY facet of this thread is logical. That just doesn't happen on internet boards.

However, as a topic Lin/Bev is probably the one topic that should elicit the most debate as it's the one Current topic left that can be rationally discussed at this point in the season.

As for the more impassioned posters, they post what they wish. Approve, disapprove, ignore or respond, that's up to each reader to decide for themselves.

While as Rockets fans we focus on our own players and management/coaching (and rightly so), this level of passion and vitriol is not exclusive to the Rockets fan base. Sometimes we forget that "fan" is an abbreviation of the word "fanatic".

I expect to see outrage and passionate pleas both for and against players, management and coaches. Lin happens to be the hot topic. And will probably remain so for a long time.

On the other hand, isn't it better that people are engaged and talking about the Rockets and their roster than being ignored entirely? Sure, it makes for a less peaceful board, but it would sure be less interesting.

You do know Harden has been our second best defender so far in the preseason. Anyone with a functioning pair of eyes can see he is actually now playing defense instead of ball watching and is doing a damn good job.

The term 'McFail' was coined down the stretch in the 2011-12 season before Lin was on the team.

Spiegel/Karolik let it be know they thought Lin was a scrube, and took every chance to have a dig on Lin "when Lin was a member of the Houston Rockets".

Not sure how you can dig Lin every chance, but McHale is beyond criticism.

For many many games last season, McFail was the term used by many people on this forum, including but in no way limited to LOFs. Two big losing streaks two consecutive seasons, one that took us out of the playoffs and the other taking us on the brink of missing the playoffs had a lot to do with 'McFail' as well.

It is so easy to make everything you don't like on this forum related to 'McFail'.

LOFs is a term, in many ways similar to 'McFail'. And it certainly wasn't coined by fans of Lin. And yet you seem to have no problems addressing fans of Lin derogatively, yet you have an issue with the term 'McFail' which was not even coined by LOFs nor used by them exclusively.

So, Lin played 23 minutes against the Pacers and 19 minutes against the Pelicans. Its an outrage!
