I wonder why Hibbert didn't dominate in the low post...they neutralized each other on offense.

Howard not being an elite post player does not affect the fact that he is a top 10 player. He's an elite rebounder, team defender, 1v1 defender, and in the PnR. Being shut down by Hibbert in the post is far from embarrassing. He does that.

some just expect players to perform in every game no matter if it is pre season or the actual season, some are way too harsh with their expectations

i was more excited just to see how D mo went

This thread is crazy. It's practically complaints over Lin not starting from page 9.

Indiana also do a good job of getting a help defender over to the other teams big man to help Hibbert out

I wish Rockets fans would actually watch their games instead of looking at box scores and W/L columns.

Wait, aren't you Vinny Del Negro?

What about the passes he doesn't make?

Not passing to take good shot / hard shot or to get fouled is not a good play when there is an easy pass to get a great shot.

That is what Harden does all the time. Even if he makes it, it is not a good play because the percentages of that continuing the whole game are low.

That's not what he meant. He was saying that Lin, being a humble well-adjusted person, would make the best of whatever situation he was in. He was not saying Lin would be lucky to carry the towels.

    It's actually a compliment.

Thought Howard had a pretty solid game despite the box score. He's definitely looking more comfortable in the post. He had some nice offensive moves. Helped cleared out the lane for the rest of the team. Hibbert had his moments, but he's a load at 7'2'' while Howard is 6'11''.

There's five or six other threads about Lin/Bev too. PG isn't even the big issue for the team. It's just what everyone wants to talk about.

So one preseason game that Howard got into foul trouble trumps their last six regular season meetings when Howard has generally ate Hibbert's lunch?

Well, what else is there to debate? Asik vs Dwight starting? Harden vs? Parsons vs?

All that's left is the 4, and we have dodgy players all over for that position with nobody clearly earning the spot. There's only so much you can debate the 4 without admitting that we're going to have to wait and see.

The only position of consequence that can be considered on any factual level right now is Lin vs Beverley, with momentum added by McHale's decision to start Beverley in Manila.

Right now there's some argument for both sides. Lin is better offensively than Bev as a play maker. Bev is better Defensively when playing on ball defense.

Harden benefits not having to share ball handling with Lin when Bev is on the floor. Dwight benefits with better PnR feeds with Lin on the floor.

And this isn't really something that's easily solved by "wait and see" unless you want to wait 40 games into the season when we've seen tons of live game line ups.

So Lin vs Bev is the natural topic of discussion because it's the main one that you can actually discuss outside of a purely theoretical context.

Lin vs Bev is a fine topic for discussion.

McHale is a hater who despises Lin and wants to bench him in embarrassing fashion in front of Asian fans, on the other hand, is not.

I agree, plus there's the fact that Howard is on a team where he doesn't have to necessarily put up outstanding offensive numbers nightly for the team to do well, as evidenced by the Rockets' offensive explosion in the first half today.
This team has a number of options that have to be respected and as you mentioned, the attention paid to Howard opened up the game for everyone else.
That counts as effective in my book.

well, if it was our best defensive lineup, then Harden wouldn't be in it either

Brewer and many others are far superior defenders than Harden

Did you think Sefolosha > Harden in OKC?

Your premise is that the discussion is purely out of curiosity and through logic. But its not. Its being argued because personal feelings are hurt. Images are destroyed. It matters not about Lin, or who Lin is, not even the Rockets. Its about how Lin makes 'them' feel about themselves. Whether its a Lin fan or a Lin hater.

They then destroy other people in order to retaliate against something they cannot control or change. Like 'McFail'. Like 'Spiegel' and 'Karolik'.
