he was injured in the playoffs and he ranks #5 in finishing at the rim for PGs.

Except they'll have to deal with questions all the time in Taiwan before the game.

It was specifically to see Lin as a starter that the fans in Manilla bought those tickets, and not just to see Lin play? Why should they care if he's played more in the 1st and 3rd quarters, as opposed to more in the 2nd and 4th quarters?

    Positives from the game:

I think McHale/Morey has got to be thrilled with this game. Not so much the Lin experiment at back-up PG, but that the Rockets beat an Eastern Conference finals team that gave the Heat a fright, a team that returned almost all of its key players from last season and added two experienced players that fit in well (plus Danny Granger). Indianna is also a team with pretty good depth, is accustomed to playing together as a team, and is very good at defending the type of offense the Rockets like to generate (rim and corner 3 shots). And the Rockets beat them pretty much every quarter (1 pt loss in the 2Q), and beat them both starters and reserves.

And did it TO the ball less than the first game, and was able to generate a face pace game despite Pacers slow-pace defensive style.

I also think that whoever TJones/DMo starts, they're probably going to struggle against the other team's starting PFs. But they'll probably look pretty good against the back-up PFs. If I was Jones or DMo, I'd probably want to play back-up PF, and look better.

Beverley and Lin both played very well today. Lin looked very good with the second unit, but I thought Howard didn't look as good with Beverley as the PG. Hard choice. Really need to see Asik back to see how the players fit together.

From the scrimmages we've seen to the first two preseason games, looks like Lin's team has won all the match-ups so far.

    Thanks!

Is it just me or are the Rockets starting to seem really scary? They have so many options.

I'm just saying he's not a playmaker. He can score and he can play defense, but he wasn't really leading that second unit offensively. He's going to bring up the ball and pass it to the player who is initiating the offense.

hardly, McHale addressed it in the after game press conference, he said Lin and Beverley are going to alternate starts in the pre-season games

lol no he isn't, maybe among point guards, but there are players who are vastly better than any point guard, e.g. lebron and josh smith.

Because let's all face it, there is a greater prestige attached to being a starter.

    Plain and simple.

More astute fans, such as the many self-claimed basketball geniuses on CF, might say that 6th man is a vital role, more important than a starter, which may be correct, but for the average fan, most people think "starters are the best players" -- which is also generally correct.

So yes, they came to see Lin as a starter.

LOL what an idiot that guy is. Detroit would be the armpit. Houston is BOOMING.

Some of the butt-hurtedness from LOF's never ceases to amaze me. Get his jock strap out of yalls mouths.

Casspi had 10 rebounds in 21 minutes to go with his 17 points. Didn't see the 10 boards coming.

Come on now, you're saying the difference was Lin and Beverley, not Hibbert to Stiemsma? let's be serious here

I thought the entire state of Florida was...or was Florida the butthole of America.

ha. I think technically New Jersey is the 'armpit of America.' no? Just looking at the map. Houston is more like the big scary dong--according to its geographic position on Uncle Sam. SFran is definitely the booty-hole
