Garcia did an amazing job on Durant.

I'm not sure what the plan is, but this lineup worked beautifully. Lin to head up the bench gives the second unit a player who can create for himself and others, which ensures us that we'll have a solid playmaker for most, if not the entire game.

    I'm with you on this.

Lin does more for the 2nd unit than Beverly. All the 1st unit needs is a stud defender and someone to take shots and make them when the defense forces the ball out of Harden/D12/CP25 hands.

The 2nd unit needs a play maker, someone that can creat his own shot and can take over games on the offensiv end. That is Lin.

I am a LOF, I approve moving Lin to 2nd unit. Houston is deadly this season.

Indeed. In the end this is what matters. And coaches understand this, which is why they're trying different combinations to see what works best.

Also, Lin not starting doesn't mean he won't finish games. If it's proven that the best 5-man unit includes Lin, and the Rockets of all teams would certainly know this from all their analytics, Lin will play in crunch time where the spotlight shines the brightest.

I kind of like the idea of

Lin - Brewer - Garcia - Casspi (if he keeps it up) - Asik

Off the bench. That being said, it's more likely we stick to a 9-man rotation, and Brewer or Casspi being used situationally

Why do folks keep overlooking Garcia? He was one of our better players in the series against OKC.

Well, this game just further proved how much Lin is better than Beverly.

    Sucked it McHale.

To be honest, I didn't really see that much of a difference in the starting lineup. The only thing this showed me was that Bev is not a PG.

I think Lin will play crunch time if we need to score but Bev will finish if we hold the lead.

The scary part is that the guy who benches Lin in Asia for a meaningless preseason game, will be the guy who's "drawing" up the final plays in meaningful close games.

Cue: the picture of the Harden iso

LIN FOR 6TH MAN OF THE YEAR

What's the right question to ask: What's best for the player or what's best for the team? (in terms of winning and success)

Why wait? You are free to leave now.
Especially if all you have is contempt for this team and the city.

This has nothing to do with who is better. This is all about how to fit your pieces together to maximize each individuals talents to make the team better.

Watching the press conference, dude called Omer Asik, "Amer Issac." At least that's what the CC said (at work, can't have sound on). Someone confirm this.
