    Overall I am very impressed by how the rockets played tonight. D-mo surprised me tonight, very active and energetic, good to see that from him and glad he's ok. I'm so excited for this season!

    Aggree with this. It has nothing to do with benching. Prior to this, the 2nd unit had no one like harden on the floor. If Lin comes off of the bench in the Manu Ginobli role then the Rockets 2nd unit has a player with James Harden to skils.

    Great starting 5 and a great bench! Lin for 6th man of the year?

    He missed 3 bunny layups, he's usually a great finisher around the rim, so probably rust

    Amazing how switching Lin and Beverley actually improved both units.

    The starters were very impressive defensively especially in the 1st half
    and the bench was relentless offensively especially in the 2nd half.

    (Granted it's only been two preseason games)

    I'm all for testing out Beverley for the starting spot, but the timing is just awful. Manila and Taiwan want to see Lin. It's too late for Manila, but now Lin has to deal with the mob in Taiwan constantly asking about losing his starting spot instead of just being an ambassador. Why put him through that? McHale will now have to answer these unnecessary questions in Taiwan too probably. He'll definitely start the game in Taiwan, but still...NOT a good time to be testing.

    You think about it, even thought it's just one game, but last year with that similar lineup (minus Parsons) Houston went OT with the Spurs starters. This team is going to be lethal as is with Lin running the second unit. I hate to see him coming off the bench, but it makes more sense on this team.

    The difference between Lin/Bev in the starting lineup is nowhere near as great as the difference between Lin/Bev in the 2nd unit. If the team as a whole can perform better I'm all for it.
