Honestly, what we really NEED is Asik, the D is just awful when Howard goes out no matter who is on the court.

Agreed. Our 5 is basically 2 men deep... DH and Asik. Beyond that we don't really have any competent 5's on the defensive end. This puts undue pressure on the other players to compensate for the size differentials.

You can't expect smaller players like Lin, Brooks and Beverley to defend the big men without accruing an inordinate number of fouls.

There are other players with length on the team, but they don't have the size, strength or defensive skills to cover the inside.

Going to need a healthy Asik and DH to hold the fort.

Asik is still one of our more important players on the roster, I hope he realizes that and get's over this whole coming off the bench situation.

 

Nevermind, the interactive boxscore is stuck at 3 minutes left in the 2nd for whatever reason

lol... so based on a game against the lakers, you've decided we 'need' greg smith? man, the logic on this board....

DMO and Jones aren't quite there yet, but they have both shown flashes of potential and both seem to have a desire to succeed and work hard. Once they get more experience and confidence, their games should start to take off. Remember, we only need the starting 4 to be a complementary player--in fact, 4th or 5th on the pecking order of shots taken. These guys don't have to be great individual players, but good system players. There is room to grow and improve, a few misses in preseason proves nothing. Could it be better? Yes, but if half the clutchfans posters on here were Coach, they **apparently** would trade DMO for a bag of chips and relegate Jones to bouncer duties in front of the Toyota center.

Tired of idiocy all around.

 

It's like night and day. Howard is the difference...on defense and offense.
