well how come all my parents friends are indians who came to the US poor and not one had handouts and all of them are successful people today!?!??! why on earth are poor americans so prone to a terrible life with no upward mobility. Dont you think the issue is with americans then and not the fact theyre poor? They grow up with parents who stress no education and that you can hop on the government teat when your older. All my parents indian friends were poor and many didn't go to college but they're brilliant and own their own businesses and many are millionaires!!! Why on earth are american poor people destined for nothing but a cycle of failure??? Why do poor foreigners come and dominate the small business environment in america?

no they just taught me the truth of the world, that every person can succeed if they try. The problem is, in america we've made it tolerable in case you don't try. My dad said it was so crappy being poor in india that he was always out working odd jobs as a kid/teen. In the US if you're "poor", you have a cell phone,tv,twitter, and a million other things to keep you from being bored out of your mind. Do the poor people in the slums of have the same fun stuff? Hell no, the indian government would never do that, so the poor, get this, they work!!!!! Here in america we just tell poor people it's ok and it's bc the rich people want to hoard money so they want less workers and everything will be ok here are your 99 weeks of unemployment and when that runs out get on disability until you're old enough to get social security, your whole meaningless life will be taken care of by the american taxpayer you can just be worthless and lounge around all day. that is what my parents taught me.....that indian people may be poor but they come here and work their tails off to succeed. They're not like american poor people, indian poor people don't hop on the government teat. Let's look at welfare stats White 38.8% Black 39.8 Hispanic 15.7 Asian 2.4 other 3.3 72% of the population is white 12.6% of the population is african american 4.8% is asian american 6.2% is some other race So only 12.6% of our population is african american yet they're 40% of welfare recipients??? Wow!

Not really. It depends where you live. And the reason you can make it in America is because of the system. Morons like your parents who work hard and complain about giving back to the system that helped make them who they are, are quite frankly hypocrites.
Actually America needs immigrants for the social safety net to survive. If not for immigrants the US population would be declining and since things like Social Security and Medicare are dependent upon younger workers paying for retirees. Also most studies have shown that immigrants, including undocumented, contribute more to the economy than they get out of it.
