While I admit that DaDakota can and has said many things I consider stupid over the years, that was unnecessary and pretty much puts you on the same level of stupidity. then put me on it, cause if this did really happen it does reflect poorly on the Texans fanbase. You can cry about how dumb you think that line of reasoning is, but the general population cares not for details, just for the headlines....and right now the headlines say "Crazed Texans fan Tracks Down Matt Schaub's family". Dont care about other fanbases, only care about this one....and this one appears unfavorable to the average citizen in this country and I dont see any real way you can argue against that fact. but I know you Ben, and I know you *will* argue it.
This story is overblown. I really don't care. It happens to celebrities all of the time. It sucks, go sulk with your millions. It comes with the territory. I cant relate to Schaub's pain on this one. The fan/s are idiots, Texans games are full of trashy people, but I just don't care.

And how is this different than saying it reflects poorly on Houston when a tourist is mugged? You can do the same thing to anything popular. Just pick out the idiots and use them to discredit everyone else. Anyone stupid enough to buy that isn't worth worrying about anyway. One last example, when Barkley tossed a fan out a window, did that reflect poorly on Dream? Did it reflect poorly on Rudy? Of course not, and they were his team mates!

I wouldn't and I'd hope most people wouldn't. I can't remember if I mentioned it in this thread or the other thread, but remember a few years back when Yankees fans were harassing Cliff Lee's wife and family during the World Series? It didn't make me condemn New York. It's just a couple of random village idiots. It sucks, but we all have them.

The story is probably overblown. Some drunk idiot probably yelled something at his house and Shaub wanted to beef up security just in case things got worse. look, Schaub more of less is married to the Texans, and the city of Houston's football crazy fanbase for a few more years so things could get worse, and Schaub could eventually become Houston public enemy #1 if this season and future seasons go in the tank. However, the blame really should be on ownership and management who for years now has known that they have a starting QB that just isn't as dynamic as all contending teams have. They saw the talent coming up through the draft year after year, and how the game was changing to suit the more dynamic offenses.... yet they chose to keep status quo, and now look what has happened. You are only going to go as far as your QB and coach will take you at the end of the day. McNair and the entire city of Houston knew that Kubiak and Schaub were b-level at best. With the Rockets, Morey made the tough decision to move on from Chuck Hayes and Luis Scola in the middle. Everyone loved those guys, but Morey knew that if they really wanted to contend, they aren't franchise big men on a contending team. Kubiak and Schaub are good B-level coaches & QB's, but they are being asked to be elite, and now are going to be the sacrificial lambs.... while the ownership and management are really the ones to blame.
True. Even if police weren't involved, just anyone going to his home to yell obscenities is in very awful taste as a "fan." Are you saying the Texans can't cut Schaub a'la David Carr, who was released one day after signing Matt Schaub? There could be a *divorce, couldn't there? Or... please explain how his contract wouldn't allow it.
To be fair, most NFL teams sell out every home game. Only the Bengals, Jaguars and Raiders have not sold out every home game over the past couple of years.
Not true... this is 2012 attendance based on tickets sold: http://espn.go.com/nfl/attendance/_/sort/homePct 11 teams sold out every single ticket for every single game...the Texans were one of those 11. The Raiders, Tampa, St. Louis, and Jacksonville were the bottom 4.
What I mean is despite fans, perception of the 3rd string QB's out there, Schaub is most likely the QB that gives them their best chance to win now out of all the other options. They are more likely to win the games they are supposed to win during the regular season with Schaub rather than taking a risk of making a QB switch now with a higher risk QB. Yates, and especially Keenum need an offseason, training camp, and preseason as the starter to get up to speed. Being a backup in practice is way different. You NEED those snaps in training camp and the preseason to be ready to win games during the regular season. There is no room for error. If McNair & Co. would have gotten their heads out of the clouds years ago, they could have seen the signs. Schaub and Kubiak give them their best chance now against sub-par competition, but its still probably not going to be good enough to get them over the hump.... especially against good teams and in the playoffs. I have no doubt that they could move Schaub or fire Kubiak if they needed to.... however, who do you replace them with is the question?? It could be some time before anyone is ready to give this team what they need to win big.
