Not trying to mess with you Carl, but Patrick Patterson would fit like a glove with the other 4 starters: a true stretch 4 who knows how to play team D. I have no confidence whatsoever with either D-MO or Jones. The former is flaky, and Jones does not know how to play with the other players (at least not yet).

What is he currently "doing" that is dirty? Should he not steal the ball, for politeness sake?

Patterson would be fine, but Hedo Turkoglu is what we really need.

D-Mo is in the Rocket's long term plans.

This is why: As somebody said, it appears he has been told by the coaches to concentrate on passing, rebounding & defense. The team knows he is capable on offense, so they are just interested in him developing the other aspects of his game for now. If he wasn't in their long term plans, they wouldn't be coaching him like this. For example, Morris and Patterson pretty much had the green light on offense. After investing all of this time to improve his complete game, they aren't going get rid of him until it pays dividends & if they didn't think it would pay dividends, they wouldn't have been investing what they have in him so far.

Rebounding would not be an issue playing along D12. 5-6 will do.

Don't think you show case Dmo by making him concentrate on the "dirty work" (rebounding, passing, defense)

That's just it. They're not showcasing him. If they wanted to showcase him, they be running post-ups for him, but they don't. That is his strength after all.

Unless you mean the aging version of Turkeyglue. The younger one was effective having the ball in his hands mostly.

Still going with Ilyasova, the former Troy Murphy type, Ryan Anderson,
    Robert Horry.

Scola would kill in this lineup although he could not defend much.

    Exactly right.

A lot of people around here were doubtful about Yao Ming's potential as a player after his first year. In fact, big men typically take a while to develop, especially really young ones like D-Mo.

Right now, D-Mo is the weakest link in the starting five. But as he concentrates on rebounding, defense, passing and being a solid team player, he will continue improve in these areas. Meanwhile, he is continuing to bulk up and he is working with Hakeem Olajawon on his post game, which will also continue to improve.

Be patient fellas. It appears that Coach McHale is bringing D-Mo along. Remember how people thought Kyle Lowry couldn't shoot - and then after a while he could. Or that Yao was not strong enough and could not stay out of foul trouble - and then he blossomed into a consistent, 20 point a game legitimate all star center. There are may other examples. Allow for the possibility that D-Mo is going be one of these players. It appears that Coach McHale is.

I wish Aldridge would come cheaper just as Gasol was traded for Kwame?

What who was doubtful about Yao Ming's 1st year..And D-Mo is nowhere comparable to that of a Yao Ming. If there names aren't Harden, Howard and Parson then they are tradable commodities.
