I asked this when it was discussed last time but why in the world are Asians $1.50 to Whites $2.00?

If anything normalized for their H.S. grades, standardize scores, and starting position in major companies, I think Asians actually get squeezed more at every stage of the funnel.

Asians are listed like that because this is a conservative group, aka angry white male group. It's the white male that is under siege with discrimination in America so he must be charged the most in this little farce.

 

2 dollars for a square of brownies when you're in college? that's wack yo. you get a box of betty crocker cake mix for 2.30$. there is no effort in the way they baked them! they might be young conservatives but they're not giadas that's fo sho'

That's BS, the Asian's price should be higher than the White's

 

It's funny, because although people are joking that the Asian price should be the highest, it's actually absolutely true. Unfortunately that doesn't jive with their redneck narrative of the white male being the most oppressed group, so obviously they don't do it.

 

I imagine the racial preference weighting is not publicized so we don't know if Asian's get a bump, but you're right, they shouldn't need it for the school to get the representation they want.

 

The Asian price should be much higher -- if you've ever walked around a university campus such as Rice you quickly realize they only admit cognitively impaired white students.

It only gets worse as you move on -- I thought there was a rolling black out in Houston when I spent some time at The Jones School of Business -- literally everything was brown. Most of the students only knew one English phrase well -- 'I could have gone to Harvard, but I chose Rice'.

I'm not sure why this phrase was so important to them, but they said it constantly -- especially after a few beers at Valhalla.

 

If you want numbers, I got numbers that suggested that not only are they not bumped, but are likely discriminated against.

And to add, I'm Asian and I think some sort of AA is still necessary. It should be more economically based and normalized.

 

Rice and Harvard don't belong in the same sentence.
