He is also the reason the Texans wilted down the stretch, blew home field advantage and were completely throttled in the playoffs. Kubiak was the head coach of a team that went 12-4 last year.... And a lot of other NFL coaches would have led that team to as good a record or better. The Texans are consistently out coached and poorly prepared for elite teams. That is on the head coach.
That's the truth though, changing the Coach really does nothing. It's not like Wade is going to come in there and insert a new offense
it's not about changing the offense..i think it's about playcalling decisions..that can change with coaches.. i think our schemes are fine, but when a QB can't execute, you change that...if a coach doesn't call the right play in the book, you change that.
I find it hard to believe this team will make the playoffs. It's not just this year, it's a continuation of the end of last year. This team is aimless and Kubes had no idea how to correct it. He's lost it. I don't expect McNair to do anything mid-season. But if this **** continues and he does nothing in the offseason, I don't know what I'm going to do with my support for this team. McNair is patient to a fault. He didn't want to fire Capers after 2-14, I wouldn't be surprised if he wouldn't fire Kubes after 6-10 or 7-9. I wouldn't be surprised if Marciano is STILL the ST coach next year. We'll see, but if the owner refuses to correct mistakes and hold people accountable, how much support can you give a team like that? He doesn't need to be (and shouldn't be) Al Davis or Jerry Jones, but he can't be as passive as he's been.
Meanwhile, Tony Dungy a superbowl winning coach says to keep Schaub lol. As I maintain, these NFL guys are a lot about patience. I think Kubiak might make the change.
If I'm the Texans, this thing is still salvageable but you need to dangle Schaub and Tate out there together in a trade package. Do you think Schaub and Tate and a future high pick can nab us a good QB in a bad situation. Can they land us either: Big Ben or Cam.
IF and HUGE IF, We SHOULD (SHOULD being the key word but who knows how that will turn out) beat the Rams, Cards, Raiders, Jags, Jags. That is 5 should win. I would have included the Titans but they have been playing well. Possibly 6 games. 8 wins right there. 5 games left. We go 2-3, we are 10-6. But then again, this team has shown barely anything to confidently say anything.
You had no problems putting words in my mouth or other posters on here. If you don't think the Texans players have given up on Kubiak, then I don't know what to tell you. The performance today just highlights the point. I like how you place all the blame on the QB, not the man that hand picked the QB, calls the plays and doesn't allow audibles. You know what historically doesn't do much and wastes everybody's time? Keeping a crappy head coach... That is a recipe for failure.
The thing is, Schaub could conceivably get 10 wins, but you will lose a lot of fan support. I know it probably doesn't make a damn difference.
guarantee you schaub is back out there next week. it wont be until this season is actually lost that they bench schaub. At 2-3, they will say they are still in it. But at 3-8 with 5 more schaub picks, they will pull the trigger. That is what it would take. I don't agree with it, but that would be my guess as to what happens.
This is tantalizing. I'd offer Schaub and Tate to Cleveland for Josh Gordon. Schaub sucks, but he isn't Brandon Weeden.
