It is only that to billionaires, Which pretty much describes NBA owners.

That is correct. His salary counts as 8.3 towards the cap annually however.

No. 8.3. Is the cap hit. The owner still has to cut him a 15 million dollar check.

Yes, but they still have to pay him $15m next year....even if the cap hit is lower, the cash OUT is still $15m.

???? DaDa - c'mon now. Did you watch with your eyes open?

Jones still looks a bit raw, but his understanding of where to be on the court in combination with his offensive repertoire is very impressive. He understands how to benefit from playing beside Howard in the post. DMo disappeared. And I like DMo.

He's also a more gifted rebounder. All these things will come into play as the season progresses and teams work to take away our strengths in harden and howard. Having a player like jones be able to give you 15-20 on a given night will be a very nice luxury.

I'm hoping DMo will get there too, and he did look better than last year, but my expectations for him are declining steadily.

This team, if it stays healthy, has the potential to be very good, and very deep.

If Dmo can grow this year - a big if for sure - we can be great.

So many weapons. 2 great players in Harden and Howard surrounded by tons of good players. That's a winning combination.

We saw the same thing from D-Mo last season as well. He does very well when the offense is not stagnant, but really struggles when it breaks down into an iso/iso-kickout mess.

One big point of concern for me from the two scrimmage footage was that the starters didn't look very good without Lin, so the Rockets may be in trouble when Lin sits. This game did nothing to alleviate that concern. Harden was +16 with Lin in 19 min, -1 with Beverley in 10 min. Howard was similarly handicapped playing alongside Beverley.

Obviously neither D-Mo nor Jones should start over Howard once Asik is back, but until then I think D-Mo looked a lot better with the starters than Jones did. Jones did not look good in his few minutes with the starters, but he was much better than D-Mo was when the offense was completely stagnant with the bench unit on the court.

I definitely think the Rockets need to stop playing D-Mo without Lin on the court. D-Mo looked terrible playing both individual D and individual O, but quite good when playing team D and team O.

The last five or so minutes of the game D-Mo played with Casspi, Canaan, Covington and I cannot think of the forth person. And his overall +/- was still +8 if I remember correctly. About +16 over Jones. And you know that lineup based +/- is not available on a game by game basis. So your request is bs.

DMo and TJ are both very flawed, error prone young players. DMo can't stay out of foul trouble, and TJ was chuckin' like a beaver. Let's hope they round into form sooner rather than later, but both are problematic as potential starters.

Jones looks lost at times - gets in the way of his teamates, and is not a good complimentary player for Howard etc.

Dmo looks like he fits in better to me - moves off the ball, is a decent rebounder, and stretches the floor, and is an excellent passer in traffic.

We don't need another guy looking for his shot first at the PF spot, we need a Robert Horry complimentary type.

For me, Dmo is closer to that than Jones....

Dmo looks like he's about to trip over his own feet half the time. I root for him, but I don't think he is ready to be an nba starter.

Jones is just out there for himself. D-Mo passed up open shots to get the ball into the hands of the team leaders. However, playing against scrubs he did hit a great % of them. So DD, you could not be more right.

your analysis is flawed. My eyes saw something completely different. And guess what? The stats backed it up. Amazing what happens when visual and statistical analysis correlate.

I would try to correct you, but if you couldn't see that, you won't allow logic to sway your opinion.
