Eddie Winslow you have EVERYTHING figured out. Feel like I'm reading an extremely laymen version of atlas shrugged. Maybe you should start a blog.

Then those people should have voted out Obama in the Romney landslide you so confidently predicted.

First it's defunding Obamacare, then it's the IRS, then it's the dept of education, and then it's the EPA, and then the FDA. The ACA would simply be the first domino in how you crazies will try to dismantle the government into your Ayn Rand vision of society. That's why you want a piecemeal budget all of a sudden. Anything you don't like has no chance of passing and you'll hold the entire government hostage in a shutdown if you can't have your way. You are nuts if you think you're going to get away with this kind of tactic.

If you want something gone, vote it out. If you don't have the votes then go get the votes.

Yes it was supposed to be, and the sequester was never anything Obama wanted. But the Republicans despite being against it in the beginning ended up praising it. As an effort to keep the govt. funded Obama was willing to continue funding at sequester levels.

The ACA is full of more Republican amendments than Democratic ones, and they participated numerous times in it's crafting. The fact that they didn't vote for it, isn't a reflection of Obama who worked in a bi-partisan fashion in bringing the bill to the floor.[/quote]
Current policy maybe, but not policy that was already decided and approved by the supreme court.

They GOP can still agree to fund the govt. and then bring up debate over ACA all they want. It isn't off the table from debate that comes up in the normal process. It is off the table when one and only one party is threatening to force the govt. unfunded unless you give in to their demands.
Every part of the govt. including the ACA was up for debate, it was debated, amended, voted on and passed. The GOP is welcome to propose legislation altering it if they wish during normal legislative process. What isn't acceptable and won't work is threatening to shut down the entire govt. because the GOP lost on ACA.

Again Obama and the Democrats never made it an all or nothing deal. The Democrats have already taken a lot off the table by agreeing to fund the govt. at the same level of the sequester. That's definitely not all they'd like to have funded with the budget.

Also the Democrats never brought up the "nothing" option in an all or nothing budget. The only party that brought the "nothing" option into it were the Republicans. That's why the blame for the shutdown belongs with the party that initiated it and voted that way.

18 times Republicans were offered the opportunity to negotiate and debate the budget, and they refused.
None of that has anything to do with the shutdown. If the GOP wanted it delayed they should have negotiated one of the 18 times they had the chance or brought legislation forward during congressional sessions. They couldn't get it done, and decided to punish the nation with a shutdown because of it.
As well as he should. If the GOP doesn't want blame for shutting it down, they shouldn't have shut it down. But it was their actions and initiation of the govt. shutdown that caused it. So they have to own it. If they don't want to own it, then they should fund the govt. so it can open back up.

Democrats have already given up funding for plenty by agreeing to fund the govt. at the levels of sequestration. They've also said they would put entitlements on the table.

So it isn't like they are only willing to cut defense.

Now the Obama team is asking for sob stories. They're just so transparent and obvious with their intentions. This is supposed to be our leadership?

    http://washingtonexaminer.com/white-house-asking-for-sad-shutdown-stories/article/2536836

“How has the government shutdown affected you?”

That's the question posted Thursday at 7:50 p.m. on the White House blog by Nathaniel Lubin, acting director of digital strategy for the Obama administration.

Don’t forget that at the top of the blog, a handy little disclaimer notes that “due to Congress’s failure to pass legislation to fund the government, the information on this web site may not be up to date.”

GOP privately admits they are going to get nothing out of this and is just doing this for political reasons because they can't control their own party.

    http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/boehner-we-are-locked-in-an-epic-battle

Speaker John Boehner urged his House Republican conference to "hang tough" at a Friday meeting, the New York Times reported, even as his allies privately admitted that the House will likely ultimately re-open the government and raise the debt ceiling without extracting concessions from the White House.

“We are locked in an epic battle,” Boehner reportedly said.

But that hardline sentiment clashed with the GOP strategizing leaked to the Times.

They are only trying to survive another day, Republican strategists say, hoping to maintain unity as long as possible so that when the Republican position collapses, they can capitulate on two issues at once — financing the government and raising the debt ceiling — and head off any internal party backlash. Republican lawmakers say Mr. Boehner has assured them privately that he will not permit a default.

Republican sources suggested that Boehner had resisted bringing the Senate spending bill to the House floor -- where it would likely pass with help from Democrats -- for fear that Republicans would revolt and refuse to vote in favor of raising the debt ceiling.

“It’s common-sense strategy,” a Republican strategist told the Times. “If you’re going to take a bullet, you want to take just one.”

That's the point, he is a reasonable person with pro-life leanings.

IIRC, the compromise was to dramatically decrease abortions through the use of education and increased access to contraception along with a commitment to make sure that if a woman chooses to have an abortion, the choice is made as early as possible in the process, preferably in the first trimester.

You are so clueless it isn't even funny. If you think anyone on food stamps is "living it up," you are spectacularly deluded.

Capital gains tax isn't 35%, look it up.

He described a short-term capital gain, which is taxed at ordinary rates.

Of course, I highly doubt he has a taxable income of $400K+ to have such a high rate, since he just said his tax last year was $28K, which would put his taxable income around $125K, and a 28% marginal rate.

Edit: To add to that, that kind of income would be highly unlikely to lead towards the new taxes in Obamacare...

I noticed that too. Wonder if he even knows the taxation difference between short and long term capital gains. He is a poser.

In addition, due to this so called "atm business", if he has a good accountant, he would not be paying more than 20% federal tax because of all the loopholes he is afforded by the tax code.

No kidding. There is enough in reality to point out eddie's stupidity. No need for people to make things up. juicy is dead on wrt tax rates. 35% is a potential tax bracket for his short term cap gains. It's highly unlikely he'll be there. There's also no 20% tax bracket, and it's highly unlikely that his marginal tax rate would be less than 25%, "loopholes" or not.

Well claims to have less than 40 ATMs. So lets just say 40.

40 at $2500/month/machine as he says. So $100k/ month to break even. If he is charging $3, which is about the highest I've seen, thats still 33k transactions to break even....each month. But we know he has less than 40 and probably charges less than 3 dollars...just adding to the number of transactions.

Must be a huge gangster or intimidating going all around town with at least 20k in cash by himself. Also a great idea to hire illegals to handle that amount of cash, that way when they steal it you can't even report them.

Ugh, gross. It's disgusting how politicians rationalize their incompetence then slap the "common sense" label on it. These guys are worse than the do-nothing congress.

I have so many write-offs I couldn't even tell you from car lease, mileage deductions, home office deductions, hell my accountant wrote off a 103 inch tv i bought bc I use it as a computer screen for work also. Let's not get into the difference between what I make and what is taxed. Owning a small business is nothing like earning income in corporate america. I paid tax on nowhere near what I earned. Hire a good CPA, the $200/month is well worth it.

also when you buy stock and sell it within 1 year you pay the short term cap gains not the long term cap gains of 15%. The fact is 35% is the short term gains and now there will be an additional 3.8% obamacare tax putting it at near 40% to daytrade. You're the uninformed.

Increased access to prenatal care as well and perhaps some type of early childhood care subsidy for single mothers. I'd definitely be on board with that. A abortion laws don't stop abortion so you'd think we could approach the problem in a more effective way.

This is why the general public is so deaf to businesses complaining about freeloaders. It's cheaters complaining about bums. They're just butthurt and jealous that someone is able to avoid taxes even better than they are. Your caricature is very entertaining.
