All this hype for nothing and definitely not worth the admission price. There was more suspense in Apollo 13 and even Armageddon.

A movie doesn't get the critical acclaim it's gotten by amounting to "nothing"...

A few quick points about Gravity. If you get the chance, do the 3D IMAX. The visuals were breathtaking. The plot was kinda lame and totally unrealistic.....but Bullock and Clooney were pretty good given the complexity of acting in those roles. I'd give it a 8/10.

    Holy Crap!

It's a 90 minute thrill ride better than anything at Disneyland. Screw the plot, screw the unreality, go and suspend your logical brain and just feel it.

    It's a trip. 10/10

A movie with lots of metaphors and one of the best if not the best survival film I've seen in a long long time.

I bet these critics just sat there figuring out what to write about during the entire movie rather than actually looking for actual flaws in this movie...which had too many. It was an astronomy disaster and I don't go to movies for visual effects anymore.

A pretty damn good movie, the visuals and the acting is superb. The themes are deep and interesting, even though the plot is simplistic and predictable.

    8/10

(Shame on those comparing it to Space Odyssey, not even close)

You bet? These critics are being paid to look for strengths and weaknesses of movies - it's their job to comb through the movie for the good and bad.

Not trying to single you out, but when 203 reviewers give the movie a positive rating (as opposed to 5 negative ones), it's hard not to take your opinion with a grain of salt.

You would think that the law of averages would come into play somewhere, but it hasn't. This movie seems to be really good. Seeing it later today.

Saw it last night. Very good movie. Not great (I liked 'Children of Men' better), but very good. Visually impressive, but the lack of story left me not caring so much whether they live or die.

Kinda wish I hadn't watched the trailers. So many of the most tense scenes were shown in them, I wasn't blown away seeing them again.

    the whole movie was predictable.

the whole time i knew she was going to live. The action was very meh, she was never in real danger. To me this movie is for an older audience, there was people crying and **** after the movie lol wut

No exaggeration, but it's probably one of the most amazing films I've ever experienced. I don't think anyone will be able to film space as perfectly as Cuaron did here. The sound, visuals, score, performances...everything is just about damn near perfect. Does it drag a little? Maybe so, because the story is so simple and straightforward and it moves slowly despite all the action and intensity (but rightfully so). And I probably wouldn't watch it again. But really none of that bothered me. It was so intense and powerful from beginning to end. I'm not a big fan of 3D but it was definitely worth it. I even shed a few tears; for one scene that no parent should be ashamed to cry over if they did.
