last night watching hoyer play I finally though keenum was viable. I remember him at uofh being somewhat mobile and throwing darts on the run. also looked like johnny football.

I think t.j. yates can start, i'm also on record in the other thread saying pickup freeman. righting off 25 year old qbs who already put up a pro bowl type season is stupid. 25 is still very young, and he has years of pro experience.

The guy has ADHD, not to say that he couldn't be a good player one day but just ask the Rockets if taking a chance on a mentally ill athlete is a good idea.

He doesn't necessarily have ADHD. He has been diagnosed with ADHD by someone somewhere, but he's probably using the prescription for athletic purposes (as a stimulant).

I have no problem with people wanting freeman but those clowns booing watt before he even played a game is just ridiculous.

More like zero risk = zero rewards in this case. But this line of thinking is one constantly comes up with Houston sports teams. Bottom Line: you can't get something for nothing. Schaub may be having problems now but he's lightyears better than Freeman. I still feel that the issue goes deeper than Schaub's performance. Other teams appear to have developed a book on the Texans and Kubiak has yet to adjust. THAT is the real issue right now and adding a project QB does nothing to address this.

Freeman is a known product. He blows. Would rather roll the dice with Yates or Keenum (less known products).

If only Dick Vermeil had known you can't get something for nothing before he signed Kurt Warner he wouldn't have wasted his time with that crap quarterback.

I definitely agree with that, teams already know how texans play, but kubiak doesnt change anything.

Different situation entirely but don't stop believing. For the record, I didn't say Freeman was crap only that he was a project. While he's athletic and has the stronger arm, his mechanics, accuracy and work ethic are terrible. Plus, he wouldn't be able to help them this year anyway. Rest assured that if Schaub continues to struggle and the team crashes and burns there WILL be a new head coach and QB come the 2014 season.

Oh, so you CAN get something for nothing. ;)

He may be a project and he may suck but it costs you nothing. Our QB isn't getting any better and may actually get worse considering his age.

Freeman has talent and ability. If his issues are mental or his mechanics then those are things coaching can fix. It's hard to fix slow, unathletic, and weak armed.
