No one has said you don't have the right to speak your mind. It's just that many of us live by the credo of "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

Im not a fool, one day when you make a nice income and its taxed away and you see all the lower income just living it up on food stamps with cell phones tweeting all day while they collect checks as they pump out more babies maybe you'll care like me. My accountant wrote down alot for me last year but i still paid in $28,000 or so in taxes and this year im paying about $7,000/quarter and will owe even more at the end of the year bc my income is up.

It's easy to say tax and tax some more when you're getting refunds and not really paying in like me. I bought a stock monday and sold it for a 15% gain yesterday and of course the government gets another 35% capital gains tax + an obamacare tax on me clicking a few buttons....ridiculous

can we agree that america is on the brink of bankruptcy and its not because of the help the government is giving to the rich is it? Sure the bank bailouts are one thing but the entitlement programs are not for the successful, they pay their own way through life

The last time I checked, the poor were not the ones who manipulated (and continue to exploit) global financial markets to the point of near ruin. But yeah, that's just "one thing" compared to millions of poor people.

This is only true if you don't understand what bankruptcy is or anything about macroeconomics.

So are you suggesting no government aid?

Look, not everyone is as fortunate as you are. I manage 150 people, pay a well above market wage, and a good portion of them wouldnt be able to provide shelter and feed their families with out the help of the government.

It's not as cut and dry as you make it out to be.

And what is rarely said is that not everyone is capable of making the grades in school to get into college, or to stay in college if they do get in. Not everyone is capable of doing work more complicated than the jobs that pay low salaries. Yet those people are still Americans, they still work hard, they still attempt to support their families. Time and time again I read ignorant people here dismiss the poor as "lazy and sucking off the government's teats," without a thought about why those people are there. They make ridiculous assumptions based on the latest crap they heard on talk radio, or certain news sources. It is patently unfair.

He only says he's fortunate. We haven't seen a pay stub yet. I think that any poster who wants to reference their income as a basis for political beliefs on the D&D should show a pay stub.

Look, I'm just asking questions. I have to take eddiewinslow at his word when he says he's an independently wealthy ATM distributor who keeps a steady flow of Washingtons cascading through Houston's fair strip clubs. But, that's what he says. I'm only asking that he show his pay stub so we know he's been bankrolled, womb to tomb, by his immigrant parents and networked his way to the top of Treasures supply chain through the Indian community in Houston.

Why won't eddiewinslow show us his pays stub? What is there to hide?

Kentucky is a state run exchange. The only thing Kentucky did was that they were really prepared and had their exchange ready and certified before October 1st. (most state run exchanges only had them ready at the last minute on Oct 1)

Interesting quirk of Southern politics is that Democrats (and labor unions for that matter) still have a strong presence in state and local politics in Kentucky. It's probably the last Southern bastion of labor backed Democratic politics that doesn't rely on minority turnout. (West Virginia is a similar example but I think Democrats are going to totally fall apart there like they did in Arkansas)

Also $4000 a week isn't 90% taxed. You'd only pay less than 25%. If you actually paid taxes you'd know these things.
