I believe it's just if a player is part of an NBA team's training camp.

Also, NOTE to CF member "invisible": Thanks for the rep on my post above in this thread. I believe that was the rep that (finally) lifted me to HAKEEM status on the BBS!

I'm not much of a betting man but I would be willing to wager alot that there is no way Henriquez even makes the final 15 much less is put ahead of a day-to-day injured Asik/Camby/Smith/ & a healthy Jones/D-Mo/Small ball. He was brought in to play for the RGV Vipers not the Houston Rockets.

I only see Canaan as the only rookie to make the Roster.

Based on some early Summer reports Robert Covington has a shot, but its going to have to at the expense of two of these guys, and Young/Henriquez not making the cut-

    R. Williams, Brooks, Casspi, Brewer.

You forgot Greg Smith. He is redundant and unless you think he has a lot of upside, he is not needed.

Greg ain't going anywhere because he is cheap and he has shown that he is a rotation guy. He's only 22 years old.

Why? Who will back up Dwight when Asik gets traded?

Hopefully, he'll get a chance to play with the Vipers. I think we would still have D-League rights to him IIRC.

I think it would be r****ded to trade Asik. The Rockets were a fantastic team with Asik on the floor.

They turned to crap when he'd leave the game and Smith played center.

Lack of depth was the Rockets' main problem last year.

This year, Dwight is an Asik upgrade. The starting 5 will be even better than last year, PLUS, with Asik backing up Dwight, they will not turn to crap like they did last year when the bench is on the floor. HUGE advantage over every team in the league.

If they trade Asik for a PF, sure, the starting 5 may be a little bit better overall (there are diminishing returns), but you sacrifice depth, and the team may still turn to crap when Dwight isn't on the floor and Greg Smith is.

I think Asik coming off the bench is a huge positive for the team.

I wouldn't have believed this about a month or so ago, but now, I totally agree. Asik doesn't appear to be going anywhere, nor should he be. We have 2 of the top 5 centers in the league; allowing at least 1 of them to be on the court at all time means, defensively, we won't "turn to crap" as you say. No one else in the league can say this.

I'm convinced keep him, him running with that second unit will be very important to us greeting wins through out the season and especially in the playoffs. I just hope jones and dmo can hold things down but we can always go small if we have Asik in or throw jones in there with him if defense is needed at the PF spot
