What really sucks for Hoyer and the Browns is...that division is up for grabs and Hoyer really could have proved something this year and early word is they are worried it's a tear... Now the likely result is that the Browns are going to draft a QB no doubt about it if he's out for the year. I know it's unlikely that Hoyer turn out to be a franchise QB...but stranger things have happened in the NFL and if he's out for the year we may never know.
Great point! I actually tuned into this game because I was excited about seeing Brian Hoyer play and then he gets hurt at the beginning of the game.
Surprisingly the game has actually turned out the be competitive. The browns have 30 points! Amazing.
Whoever Captain Clueless is at Fox 26 that made the decision to show Saints/Bears instead of Seahawks/Colts is an idiot! I say this as a part-time Bears fan. They probably have the misguided idea Houston is loaded with Saints fans while forgetting the vast majority of us don't care at all about them and instead want to see a meaningful marquee game that affects the Texans. Dumb dumb da dumb! For similar reasons, I'd rather watch Chiefs/Titans on CBS instead of Pats/Bengals. Like the Colts, Titans are legit division rivals (plus the unfortunate, small residual here that are still fans). The good thing is we have online options to work around these problems.
Horrible attempt to slide. It's like he tried to switch legs mid-slide. Manuel's seems to be a knee sprain, and he was shown putting weight on it and testing it out, so hopefully he's fine. Watching both of them in slow mo definitely makes you shudder, EJ's toe looked like it got caught just a hair and almost made his knee bow out like RG3's did.
As a die hard Browns fan it really sucked. I didn't get to tune in until Cleveland's 3rd possession on offense but followed on my phone. I was wondering WTF Weeden was playing. Seems par for the course as a Cleveland fan though. I won't deny the scary thought he could be another Derek Anderson mirage (ie one outlier of an epic fantasy football season) is in the back of my mind as well, but I'd like to find out conclusively.
its not a misguided idea, LOUISIANA is saints territory not just new Orleans. we have plenty of their fans
It depends how you define "plenty". Probably over 90% of NFL fans in Houston don't care about the Saints and we'd rather see Seattle at Indy. One thing I will admit (but don't want to): I understand why Fox shows Cowboys games whenever possible. (1) There are truly large numbers of Cowboys fans that live here (way more than Saints fans) and (2) The rest of us hate the Cowboys and want to watch them lose. The majority of Houston NFL fans have passion about the Cowboys one way or the other. However, there are times when Fox shows the Cowboys when a better game is on and it is irksome to me.
You really think 90% of people in Houston would rather watch the Seahawks/Colts over the Saints? Have you ever been to a sports bar in Houston during a Saints game when the Texans aren't playing? There are a lot of transplanted Saints fans, and not just because of Katrina. And it's not like that's a **** game anyway. I think you're overreacting just a tad. And speaking as a fan of none of those teams and only the Texans, if I have to pick a game to watch, I'm picking Saints/Bears.
Hey, he could be. Or he could be another Kurt Warner. We'll just never know now. I mean they were 2-0 against some solid teams, one of those teams (The Bengals) considered to be a contender to some. Now though I think they'll likely be a bad team, draft a QB, and Hoyer is going to wait for another injury to get another shot at it. As for the whole game thing...yeah I don't see how they are NOT playing the Indy-Sea game...and then they aren't playing the Titans game either. So instead of seeing the Chiefs vs Titans in a game extremely relevant to the Texans fans we see the Pats-Bengals (not so bad, still a AFC game) Instead of seeing Colts-Seahawks we see the Saints-Bears. I don't give a flip about how many Saints fans are in Houston, it's still Houston. I could accept the Dallas games because it's Dallas...but not this New Orleans ****
