Terrence Jones was reportedly shopped last trade deadline for a future 1st rounder which they were not successful in getting.

At the time it could have been more or less about preparing financially for a Dwight push, but at the very least it shows that Terrence Jones isn't a lock to be here forever, and they will trade him if they think it puts the team in a better place to get the player they think will help them win a championship.

    Asik for Green Straight up?

    Boston has no Center
but has Green, Wallace, Humphries, Bass, Sullinger, and Olynyk

    Houston has no starting PF
but has Dwight, Asik, Smith, and Camby.

    Boston out: Jeff Green

    Houston out: Omer Asik

    Omer Asik / Terrence Jones

    for

Paul Millsap and rights to Lucas Nogueira

Horford gets to play PF next to Asik; Houston gets stretch 4 and future insurance at backup 5.

Couldn't be done until December, I know.

Are you talking about one of those trade rumors they throw out there so he hears it to motivate a player who is slacking off effort-wise, etc. with no actual intention of trading him? That is all that was.

Just because nobody is openly terribly complimentary of Jones' potential means nothing. They never say their real opinions about players for a variety of reasons. For one thing if you start talking about a player like he has arrived, he might stop working hard. Secondly, it could make them harder to sign to desirable contract when that time comes. For example, Morey has never tried to build up Parsons in the media since he joined the team, rather he has been purposefully reserved.

Besides, why is Morey above the slightest criticism anyway?

If Jones & D-Mo both don't pan out for the Rockets, I am placing the blame squarely on Morey, the coaches, the player development director, trainers, etc.

As far as I'm concerned, both of their rookie seasons were mishandled. Not to the point of being disastrous or a complete waste, just could have been better. You can say what you want, but both players are seemingly coming into this season with little to no confidence. How is that a positive to anybody involved?

Jonathan Feigan walks the company line pretty tight. If he's reporting it, there typically is some legs to it other than player motivation.

How the heck were their rookie seasons mishandled??... Morey amnestied Scola, and moved Patterson & Morris as quick as he could to make room for D-Mo, Robinson, and Jones in the lineup all for the sake of expediting their development. McHale even said as much.

At the very least D-Mo & Robinson got very good chances after the trade deadline to prove something to the coaches. Both players had their ups and downs, but they got a chance. Jones, not so much during the regular season, but the fact that he was relied upon to get minutes in the playoffs speaks pretty highly of him.

The only legit argument you can say about Morey is that he shouldn't have hoarded so many PF's to begin with. However, once he got through training camp, they did everything they could to get these guys developed both in the D-League and the big league.

Like Morris last year, Landry before, Brooks before that, etc. I assume that year 2 will see a much bigger role for Jones & D-Mo. Rookies rarely get PT because of the competition for it.... That's the way they operate so your just gonna have to deal with it, or write a letter to Morey and hope he listens to your complaint.

    Milw out: Ilyasova/udoh/henson/antetokounmpo/1st(2014)/2nd(2014)/2nd(2015)
    Milw In: rondo/smith/bass
Outlook: they get a 'StaR' that that city and team is desperately in need of. they give up young talent and picks but land a stud. they also take on bass salary but is a decent role player, albeit over payed. they get smith and his cheap contract for depth. they trot out a lineup of Rondo/mayo/delfino/bass/sanders which is pretty good to build on.

    Bost out: rondo/bass/lee
    Bost In:asik/udoh/henson/antetokounmpo/milw.1st(2014)/milw.2nd(2014)
Outlook: get alot of quality young prospects. a stout defensive c in asik. and up and coming pf in henson. an expiring in udoh. a high risk/high reward prospect in antetokounmpo. they shed the salary of bass and lee. and gain two picks in the loaded class of '14.

    Hou out: asik/smith
    Hou In: ilyasova/lee/milw.2nd(2015)
Oulook: houston gets a great fit in ilyasova(much better than anderson, better D too.) who can share the role of parsons who are both interchangable at the 3/4. either or can play both and gives us great flexibiity and spacing. we get lee back who is also a great fit. both players are 3-n-D type players. we also gain a 2nd in the '14 draft.

    lin/beverly
    harden/lee
    parsons/garcia
    ilyasova/(jones/dmo)
    dwight/camby

makes us 2 deep in every position with the possible exception of Center. Multiple players play multiple positions. lee-sg/sf, garcia-sf/sf, parsons-sf/pf, ilyasova-sf-pf, harden-sg/sf, lin-pg/sg.

Only see this as viable in a Milwaukee "Win Now" mode - I don't see them there yet. Henson and Antetokounmpo would appear to be their future IMO and dumping them for a "star" who isn't known for scoring wouldn't be logical at all. Milwaukee has made some confusing moves this offseason, but this would take the cake if it were to happen...can't see it.

Suns are rebuilding, so no. I still say a deal where Lin and either Jones or Motiejunas, plus the rights to the Greek kid, for Ilyasova is workable, particularly if/when Milwaukee decides that Brandon Knight isn't going to cut it. Which may happen during training camp this month.

Celtics get Jones, Smith,Emeka Okafor (expiring)

    Washington gets Asik, Marshon Brooks

    We get Bass, Green

I figure either Bass or Motiejuanas plays backup center.
I don't think we get Green unless its a three or 4 team deal. Don't see why Boston would want Asik.

Why do some Rockets fans want Jeff Green? His contract sucks and advanced stats inform us that he's not very good. 0% chance of this happening. Bass also is overpaid and not very good.

Puke... lets give up the two most desirable players in the trade and get back a bad contract player that only shows up half of the time, and a veteran backup PF at best.... no thank you.

Glen Davis, Afflalo and Nelson anyone?

JLin and Asik for Glen Davis, Afflalo and Nelson? They are available according to news below:

    http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports....n-the-trade-block/?ocid=Yahoo&partner=ya5nbcs

    Reasons for Rockets

Glen Davis's developed a reliable mid range jumpers these years. Good to have that when you have DW12

Afflalo will provide good perimeter defense and 3 pt threat.

Nelson demands less ball than Lin, and he is a good shooter (declined a little but still decent)

    Reasons for Magic

Lin is young and a natural PG. Oladipo can play his natural SG

Asik being Asik. Good defensive centers do not grow on trees.

    Thoughts?

Haha. Magic would be all over this in a second. All three of them are overpaid.

I do like Afflalo as a sixth man backup for Harden but I still want to believe in Lin becoming a borderline All-star.

So you are saying Lin is not overpaid? Asik being a back up center is not overpaid?

Afflalo can be a very useful piece, and he is in his prime.

I think Asik and Bledsoe are two young players the suns can build around. That's just my opinion. Asik is on a good contract for what he gives you and he's only 27 years old.
