Why in the world is Terrence Jones shooting 3's? I guess that's why they call it scrimmage.

Rockets love their players taking threes rather than taking jumpers.
Howard has been practicing taking threes too.

The coaching staff wants it's 4's to shoot 3's. They want everyone shooting 3's aside from the center.

Don Nelson had manute bol shooting 3's back in the day.

No but he has follow the game plan 90% of the time at least. He can't just get his and prove his worth unless he's 100% sure he can produce. He has to prove his worth in the confines of the coaches wishes.

Absowootwee (to quote Rocky Balboa). In everyone's mind at this very moment in time TJones is a sure bet for starting PF and Brooks has stolen the backup PG spot from Beverley. Of course all that will change tomorrow when DMo in scrimmage goes 3-for-3 from deep and Brooks dribbles the ball off his foot and then airballs a 3, and in which case he will be on his way back to China.

Casspi didn't make a single shot in all the footage. Not even a wide open dunk.

What people may not realize is that Casspi just spent a month-and-a-half busting his butt for the Israeli National Team in the Eurobasket league. The guy played great, both as a scorer and a rebounder. He'd put up games of like 22/8. He shot the three very well apparently.

Love Harden, but yes, if the offense flows better with the ball out of his hands then of course Lin should run it. If Lin holds the ball just so Lin can have the chance to prove himself, then obviously no, as Harden is our go to guy, no question. This isn't a tryout or summer league game. But all those who think Harden should run the offense like a pg are delusional and that is not what happened last year. Lin ran a substantial portion of the offense and Harden was most efficient when he took over in spurts or played within the confines of our run n gun offense and picking his spots. Harden does not have the mindset nor skillset of a pg, he has the mindset of a juking, euro stepping, badass shooting guard.

Did you read today's article/interview with Rox assistant coach Chris Fitch, which discussed this very subject (not mentioning Lin specifically granted)?

Get used to the idea that Euroball, national team are very different to NBA bball.
You can be a god there still be a scrub in the NBA.
No doubt I will give him more time but I also have the hunch that Delfino just might be a better player than him and he cannot fully replace him.

Donatas rebounded pretty well in Europe.... and he could not get many rebounds here.

Only if 28% is considered "very well".

This was awhile back but here's Morey saying Lin is the most explosive player ever measured by Rockets!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTH5vA3ZmE0

I'm just happy we're finally getting to see real NBA players play!

Because he's our best player. And while I also think Lin is our best PG, I think giving him the 6th man role might actually work because of how our team is set up.

Same here, especially the transition game.

Ok, let's petition for Lin to sleep on the couch before and come of the bench for the season opener and start from the second game.

I do recall Lin started in 6/7 Linsanity games

Tjones has a good jumper and is creative with the ball. Dwight surprised me with his passing. Lin looks faster . Brewer looks good. Dwight needs his touches and more. Harden aint even trying, you aint even know it.

Brooks will be a dynamo this season. After having a preseason and training camp getting to know our sets he will be a great boost off the bench mostly as a combo guard.TJ as I said earlier will start and cement the 4 spot with his ability to shoot the tray ball and run the floor.

This post sums up this 16 page thread the best.

I think we hit 40 pages on the first preseason game, and if Lin has a bad game, maybe 70+ pages ...

Love what I'm seeing from D-Mo and Terrence Jones. I hope both do really well this season but I'm especially rooting for D-Mo. Both were very active on the court.

AB also is looking good. I hope he sticks it to some of the bandwagon fans who haven't seen what he's done and were writing him off. Absolutely one of my favorite Rockets.
