That's another era, unfortunately. You get less and less of the traditional big.

The spread-4 isn't a fetish. It's the way a lot of teams are geared to play now, like it or (in your case) not.

 

Dwight could be stronger, sure. As rookies at the combine Dwight benched 225 lbs. 7 times, Jones did it 12 times. I don't think they are as far off strength wise as you think. I also don't think he is that much bulkier. Like I pointed out, they are only ten pounds apart. I am not saying Dwight isn't stronger and bulkier, he is. I just don't think he is obviously so. I mean a 6'9 and 6'10 guy with identical body-fat and a ten pound difference will look about the same size. This is not shorting Howard, I just think Jones is a beast in his own right.

I am just pointing out that there are power forwards in this league that aren't considered undersized that are around Terrance's size. I don't think what I wrote is irrelevant as this has become a discussion on whether he is big enough to man the 4 in the NBA. I think he is, and I pointed out that guys his size are doing it right now.

 

Right now T. Jones is the closest thing we have to a Power Forward. Greg Smith and Asik can't spread the floor, D-Mo gets pushed around like a bowling pin under the basket.

 

Just try to stop with those SF considerations. Never done a thing for Mook and Derrick Williams.
Play him strictly at PF and good things will happen. Leave the other stuff to Covington.

Man, I didn't watch much Summer League, but TJones' shot was ugly last year. Looked like it needed to be reworked completely......

 

Dwight has a standing reach of 9'4
Jones has a standing reach of 8'11

Dwight has a 7'4 wingspan
Jones has a 7'2 wingspan

Dwight is longer, stronger, heavier, more explosive, hence why he can be so dominant defensively. You basically have a 6ft9 guy with the measureables of a much taller person, he can naturally be more explosive, have better foot speed, lateral quickness and all that.

But yes Jones isn't undersized lol.
