They bent over and took it back when the ACA was passed. At this point, they are trying blackmail because none of their other tactics have worked.

And this is where you would be completely WRONG as seen by the house takeover by republicans in 2010 and the corresponding rise of the tea party. In response to the extremely unpopular Obamacare, the nation responded by kicking their democrat representatives to the curb where they have stayed since.

Since when have the Republicans supported him in anything?

I'm half-surprised they didn't complain about Obama when bin Laden was killed. Probably wished Obama had kept bin Laden under surveillance until (they had hoped) Romney was elected.

Imagine when bin Laden was killed, imagine every Republican turned into a version of Otto from "A Fish Called Wanda":

Obama: "You said I couldn't do anything right. You owe me an apology."

Otto: "I'm so very very sorr....F*** YOU!" (pause) "I'm so very very....F*** YOU!"

Actually the Democrats got more votes than the Republicans but don't have control of the House thanks to massive gerrymandering. It wasn't a repudiation of the American public. It was right-wing (if very clever) scumbaggery.

Let's say Republicans controlled the House, the Senate, and the White House. Now say they passed a law that they ban abortions. Now we all know that's not legal according to Roe v. Wade, but the issue can be substituted and the point still stands. So now say Democrats retake one chamber. If Democrats fought tooth and nail to stop the abortion law from being passed, but did not have the votes to do so, but then retook a chamber and tried another strategy...would you be as upset? In other words, are you just mad that it's Republicans trying to stop a Democrat's law?

Abortion is a terrible example because of the Constitutionality and the fact that it doesn't really involve funding, but it is the most politically contentious issue I can think of off the top of my head.

In large part because Obama delayed parts of the Law and skirted questions about his foreign policy debacles. That coupled with the fact that no one really liked Romney as a candidate.

We already have an example of this in Iraq war funding. Democrats wanted to to stop the war by cutting the funding. A very unpopular disaster of a war with tens of thousands wounded and killed and a trillion dollars spent with massive protests against it all across the country. They did not hold the government hostage as a negotiation tool. Thanks for playing.

That meanie Obama proposed a bill and passed it. So mean. He did it even though he knew conservatives opposed it just because they didn't have enough votes. How mean can you get.

These conservatives are so whiny always claiming to be the victims. So sad.

Ugh, they tried. March 23, 2007 the House used the budget to try and force a close the Iraq war.

You like to end a lot of your statements with "Thanks for playing," Or "yah I thought so." You haven't won anything here.

Yes, they tried to defund the war. That's what I said. They didn't leverage a government shutdown as a negotiating ploy. Maybe you don't really understand what's going on.
