You know what the title reminds me of?

"Get the ball down low to Yao, shiiiiiit." - Clyde Drexler.

BTW, how does Carroll Dawson know post moves?

The guy is a business man. Did he even play basketball? He doesn't seem very tall

It is like Jerry Buss teaching Shaq some post moves

Kinda interesting how Dawson became an expert on post moves

CD actually thought Hakeem the drop step and hook shot. I think he even goes back to the Moses Malone days if I'm not mistaken. I think he may have played ball for The Baylor Bears.

Howard struggled to score in the post last season. Hope the trend reverses itself.

yep that was hard to watch. His forte was more turn-around jumpers and catching a pass deep in the post for an immediate dunk or hook shot. When the defenses had time to collapse on him, he had those issues.

The rest of the team isn't gonna dig on that, as a go to.

Something that concerns me is how Howard needing the ball in the post in a half court offense is going to jibe with the fact that the rest of the team is at their best running and gunning. The option to move to an inside-out-outside-in half court post game is going to be a boon, but balancing how and when that happens without taking a hit to our current or previous strengths will be the part of our chemistry that I'm eager to see, if a little anxious.

He also got stripped a ton last season, a point that isn't brought up much often on these boards. I hope he gets that taken care of as well.

Some of those struggles may have been the result of not being fully healthy. Health is going to be the most important variable for any potential contender.

Who did he have around him to space the floor most of the time? (besides kobe)

No 3 pt shooters I would respect that's for sure

I sure hope they still will run and gun it a little still. Otherwise slowing the game down won't be that pretty to watch...

Early offense percentages are always the best, even more so when you have a team that can run. When you can't get a good early look, then dump the ball down low or run a P&R.

This is true. I think Parsons is a skilled enough passer to be our Robert Horry. So is Harden, but you I don't think it will be a problem because Dwight is able to hold his ground for a little longer than Yao because of his strength and quickness.

You don't think Battier was a good into-the-post passer?

They will run and gun for sure. There will be alley oops at times, Harden,Parsons and Lin will attack the basket.

It gets them in post season though. Kevin Martin's shot are awkward to look at too, but dang, swoosh!
