Not sure if this was posted yet but... One of my favorite parts of Felina was the emotional impact that it managed to wring out of the little details and references inside of it - something that only a show that expected viewers to have seen every episode could have gotten away with. Here’s a few that I caught: The title of this episode is an anagram of finale, it’s also the name of the woman in the Marty Robbins’ song “El Paso,” which was playing in the car Walt stole in New Hampshire. In the song, the narrator dies in the arms of the woman he loves, just like Walt dies in the meth lab he helped design. That’s about as good of a death as Walt could have hoped for - not only did he die protecting Jesse, but his death in the lab will ensure that he gets the credit for making all of the blue meth until his death (he even left bloody prints on the lab equipment) A couple people have pointed out that Felina can also be read as Fe Li Na; iron (blood), lithium (meth), and sodium (tears) Walt’s death is also shot in reference to the final scene in Crawl Space (zooming out as though he’s being lowered into a grave); Walter White died in Crawl Space, Heisenberg died in Felina When Walt says goodbye to Holly, you can see that she’s in the Tampico crib from Krazy-8’s family’s store In 4 Days Out when the battery in the RV died and Walt and Jesse were stranded in the desert, Jesse suggests that Walt build a robot to get them out of the situation, which is exactly what Walt does in Felina The episode shows a quick scene of Jesse working on a wooden box; that’s the box he described making in rehab when he was asked what he would do if he could do anything he wanted Walt executes Jack mid-sentence just as Jack did to Hank, though Hank refused to compromise his integrity and Jack went out begging for his life Jesse is framed holding the gun to Walt just as he was to Gale, though by now he’s learned not to do Walt’s dirty work

I forgot. What happens in "Crawl Space" that is so important? What is the recap on that one? From what I remember he tries to install a tankless water heater or something. Doesn't seem special off the top of my head. Keep hanging onto something when you've got nothing else, bro. Gotta hang onto something.

I usually don't get into posts about A&M **** talking but this is silly. He referenced a relevant (perhaps one of the top championship games of all time) championship in the past decade. Whereas the only thing A&M has to rely on the past decade is an 11 win season (even though UT was spitting these out like dingleberries the past decade) from last year and a Heisman winner. Most of our championships are from the past 50 years during the AP/BCS era. Whereas all of A&M's championships are from before WWII where many teams were voted champions and were co-champions. We had Earl Campbell, Ricky Williams, and I think Vince is technically (and rightfully should have been ) the Heisman winner from 2005 since Reggie Bush had to vacate his Heisman. Not too sure about the whole Vince/Reggie thing since I don't follow my alma mater too closely. Anyway, A&M has at least another couple decades of being dominant (which they aren't even in the SEC since they have had trouble with LSU, Florida, and Alabama the past 2 seasons) before they can talk ****. UT may be bad now, but as A&M recently learned. It only takes one good coach and one good QB recruit to bring you back in the spotlight and with UT's infinite resources it should happen in the next half decade.
Please, keep the ****** crap about UT and A&M out of this thread. Some of us who like this show could care not one bit about either school. Now, if you want to talk about the SHSU Bearkats.... :grin:
Im catching up. I just finished watching episode 6 I think, "Buyout". "I'm in the empire business" Great line.
The suspense in this show is sometimes unbearable. But that is a good thing.... Like the scene in one of the early season 5 episodes where Skyler walks into the pool. And then the argument her and Walt have in their bedroom. WOW!!! The look in Skyler's face was terrifying.
That was the episode that Gus threatened to kill Skyler, Jr and Holley. Walt tells Saul to get him out of Albuquerque but he needed 500 grand to get a new identity and new home for his family. The money was in the crawl space under the floor of his house. When he goes to get the money he finds that most of it is gone. When Skyler gets home she finds Walt in the crawl space with what's left of the money screaming hysterically. Walt asks her what happened to the money and she tells him she had to give it to Ted to pay his taxes. The episode ends with Walt lying on his back in the crawl space and instead of screaming, he is now staring up at skyler and laughing uncontrollably like a mad man. Episode ends there. Television genius!
